Britney Spears has revealed she’s working on new music in a post on Instagram, while reiterating her feelings toward her family.
Alongside a video of her singing in front of a mirror, Spears wrote that she recently realised she “needed to be [her] own cheerleader”.
“I just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago … I needed to be my own cheerleader!!!! God knows they weren’t…” she wrote.
She then shared some statistics about her own career that she found online, including nearly 100million records sold worldwide.
“No … I’m not auditioning for anything !!!! I’m reminding myself and the world of who I am !!!!” she continued.
“Yes … I will be my own cheerleader … why ???? I’m here to remind my white “classy” family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget !!!!”
She then closed her post by writing, “Pssss new song in the works … I’m gonna let you know what I mean!!!!!”
As a result of the conservatorship’s termination, Spears now has a say in controlling her estimated $60million (£45million) estate and finally has the freedom to make her own medical and personal decisions for the first time since 2008.
The much-anticipated third season of Donald Glover‘s Atlanta finally has a set premiere date, almost four years since its second season aired.
Season three of Atlanta will premiere on FX on March 24, while also being available to stream on Hulu the same day. This marks the first time the series will be available to stream while the season is still airing on television.
The show’s third season will be set, and was filmed, almost entirely in Europe. It will star Glover, Lakeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz and Bryan Tyree Henry as Earn, Darius, Van and Paper Boi, respectively.
“Once again, Donald Glover, the producers and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes Atlanta so great.”
The announcement of the premiere date comes almost two months after the first teaser for the season was released. At the time of the teaser’s release, FX chairman John Landgraf explained that production had already begun on the show’s fourth season.
“…They’re actually in production right now on season four in Atlanta,” Landgraf said.
“And all of the scripts for season four have been written. I absolutely adore those scripts for both seasons.”
According to Rolling Stone, in an Instagram post that is no longer publicly viewable, Spears reflected on a string of events from her past, including touring. Spears, who hasn’t embarked on a world or even national tour since 2018, said that she “hated” being on the road after her career took off.
“I know I’m not playing in huge arenas with my loud band anymore but I will be honest and say life on the road is hard,” she said.
“My first three years in the biz and on the road were great but I’ll be completely honest and say that after those three tours and the pace I was going… I don’t think that I ever want to do it again !!! I hated it!!!”
She also spoke of some of the freedoms she’s been able to enjoy since the recent termination of her conservatorship, which she had been in since 2008 for 13 years, largely under the control of her father.
Speaking of her newfound freedom to withdraw cash from an ATM, Spears said, “I’m not embarrassed to share this…Well, maybe a little… but I’m more embarrassed for my family condoning the fact that I wasn’t allowed to have cash for so long when I worked my little ass off for them.”
She also condemned the California state government for “permitting my father to have me work as hard as he worked me all those years and never seeing a dime.”
Spears has also indicated in another recent social media post that she is aiming to use her platform in order to advocate for “people with real disabilities and real illnesses.”
An associate of Kanye West allegedly pressured an election worker in the state of Georgia last year to confess to false accusations of voter fraud.
In December 2020, Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, became targeted by false claims that they had illegally counted fake mail-in ballots by pulling them from “suitcases” while working on the day of the 2020 election at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
The claims, which were first disseminated by right-wing website The Gateway Pundit, were debunked by Fulton County and Georgia elections officials, according to the New York Times, but continued to be amplified by Trump allies and the former President himself.
Now Reuters has reported that a woman named Trevian Kutti allegedly attempted to pressure Freeman into confessing to those false accusations that she and Moss had committed voter fraud.
According to Reuters, Kutti has been associated with Kanye West since 2018, but a representative for West later denied to the news service that she had been associated with the rapper by the time of this alleged meeting with Freeman.
According to Reuters’ report, Kutti allegedly travelled to Freeman’s home on January 4 while accompanied by an unidentified man, telling Freeman that she represented a “high-profile” individual.
Shortly after Kutti arrived at Freeman’s home, Freeman called 911, telling the operator “They’re saying that I need help.” Freemanalso said that Kutti told her “it’s just a matter of time that they are going to come out for me and my family.”
Upon officers’ arrival at Freeman’s home, Kutti said that Freeman was “in danger” and had 48 hours before “unidentified subjects” would arrive at her home. Officers present suggested Kutti and Freeman reconvene at the police station, which they did.
At the station, Kutti was filmed by a police officer’s body camera telling Freeman and her family that she “cannot say what specifically will take place”. “I just know that it will disrupt your freedom and the freedom of one or more of your family members,” Kutti said. Kutti also allegedly told Freeman she was a “loose end for a party that needs to tidy up.”

Freeman told Reuters that Kutti called a man she said was named Harrison Ford and had “authoritative powers to get you protection”, and put him on speakerphone. For about an hour, Kutti and the man reportedly tried to get Freeman to implicate herself in committing voter fraud on Election Day, Freeman told Reuters.
Freeman also recalled Kutti telling her that, if Freeman didn’t tell her “everything,” she would “go to jail.” Freeman ended the phone call by saying “the Devil is a liar” and requested assistance from an officer.
Though police say they didn’t investigate further, Freeman was reportedly contacted by the FBI on January 5, who advised her that she should leave her home as they feared she was in danger. A mob arrived at Freeman’s home on January 6 – the same day as the Capitol riots – shouting threats through bullhorns. It is unclear whether Freeman vacated her home before then.
Though Reuters has reported that Trevian Kutti was a publicist of West’s, a representative for West later said that the two weren’t associated at the time she met Freeman.
“Trevian Kutti was not associated with Kanye West or any of his enterprises at the times of the facts that are reported in these articles or since these facts occurred,” said Pierre Rougier, West’s spokesperson, in a statement to Reuters.
In her biography, which was shared on the business networking site Women’s Global Initiative, Kutti is described as a member of “the Young Black Leadership Council under President Donald Trump”, Reuters said. The website has since removed Kutti’s bio.
Kid Cudi has revealed plans to drop two separate albums next year, saying he has some “tasty surprises.”
While performing as part of the California leg of the Rolling Loud festival for 2021, the rapper delivered a yet-to-be-released song titled ‘Freshie’. Elsewhere in the set, Cudi explained why he was teasing unreleased music during his set.
“As you know, I have ‘Entergalactic’ coming in the summer,” Cudi said – referencing his long-teased album, first hinted at back in 2019.
“I wanna drop another album before that. I got some tasty surprises and I really am excited about all this new shit; this new music to give to you guys. That’s why I’m teasing this shit now, because it’s coming out soon. Tonight, record this shit.”
Watch Cudi perform ‘Freshie’, and announce his two new albums, below:
While ‘Entergalactic’ has been teased for over two years, Cudi did release his seventh studio album, ‘Man On The Moon III: The Chosen’, last year.
In a review of the album, NME‘s Will Lavin wrote that the album was “a cinematic masterstroke that electrifies the senses at every turn.
“Kid Cudi gives us every part of himself, laying out his insecurities and inner demons in the hope that it might help someone else,” the review read. “No one does mood music quite like Cudi.”
More recently Cudi made a cameo in the latest Adam McKay film Don’t Look Up playing DJ Chello, the love interest of Ariana Grande‘s character Riley Bina. As part of the film, Cudi and Grande recorded a duet, titled ‘Just Look Up’.
The film sports an all-star cast, including Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet and more. In a review, NME‘s Nick Levine wrote that it “succeeds as both a raucous comedy and a grim cautionary tale.”
Jussie Smollett has been found guilty of falsely reporting to police that he had been a victim of a homophobic and racist hate crime in 2019.
According to Associated Press, jurors deliberated for over nine hours yesterday (December 9) and found the former Empire actor guilty on five counts of disorderly conduct pertaining to a police report he filed on January 29, 2019 – the same day the alleged attack took place.
Smollett was acquitted of one further count of disorderly conduct, relating to a later police report he filed the following February.
Smollett faces up to three years in prison for disorderly conduct, which is a class four felony, though experts have reportedly said the actor is more likely to be put on probation and ordered to do community service.
Smollett’s lawyer Nenye Uche said that he would appeal the conviction, adding that his client was “committed to clearing his name”.
“Unfortunately we were facing an uphill battle where Jussie was already tried and convicted in the media,” Uche told reporters, “and then we had to somehow get the jury to forget or unsee all the news stories that they had been hearing that were negative for the last three years.”
The verdict arrived after a week-long trial that saw two brothers, Abimbola and Olabingo Osundairo, testify that Smollett had recruited them to help him stage an attack in an effort to boost the actor’s publicity, and were paid $3,500 (£2,646).
They further testified that Smollett, who is Black and gay, had instructed them to put a noose around his neck, yell racist and homophobic slurs at him and rough him up, per AP, in the view of a surveillance camera. Smollett denied these claims, reportedly telling the jury “there was no hoax”.
Smollett’s attorneys, however, argued that the brothers’ attack on him was motivated by homophobia. They also argued that the Osundairos faked the story that the attack was staged, and alleged they attempted to blackmail Smollett by telling him they wouldn’t testify against him if he paid them $1million each.
In June 2019, footage was released appearing to show Smollett with a noose around his neck on the day of the alleged attack. The footage was part of a staggering 1,200 documents that were released relating to the incident.
Six new charges were laid against Smollet in early 2020 after a special prosecutor, Dan Webb, was brought in to further dissect the case. Earlier this week, Webb told the court, “it is just plain wrong to outright denigrate something as serious as a real hate crime and then make sure it involved words and symbols that have such historical significance in our country.”
“Mr. Smollett didn’t want the crime solved,” Webb said, per The New York Times. “He wanted to report it as a hate crime; he wanted media exposure; but he didn’t want the brothers apprehended.”
Defense lawyer Nenye Uche accused the Osundairo brothers of being “certified liars”, saying they “wanted to make money.”
“The entire prosecution case was built like a house of cards,” Uche said, per the Chicago Tribune. “And we all know what happens to a house of cards when you apply a little pressure. It crumbles.”
Whether you like it or not, the Crazy Frog has made its return with the release of new track ‘Tricky’, a mashup of Run-DMC‘s ‘It’s Tricky’.
With the creature’s return prophesied last month, ‘Tricky’ is an EDM rework of the Run-DMC classic, topped off with the irritating and infectious repetition of “ding ding” that the amphibian is known for, and that dominated the music sphere in the mid-00s.
The Crazy Frog was originally marketed by the ringtone company Jamba! back in 2005, before famously beating Coldplay to Number One in the UK albums chart in May that year. Now, given the decline in ringtones, the frog has been reworked to appeal to a TikTok audience.
Wolfgang Boss, president of A&R at Sony Music, said, “When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn’t exist.
“But right now TikTok is super important. It’s basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music.”
‘Tricky’ arrives with a music video that sees the Crazy Frog break into a rocket launch site, hoodwinking robot guards before enlisting them to join it in some choreography. It truly has to be seen to be believed.
You can watch the music video, described as a take on the “Bezos-Musk ego trip”, below. It was directed by Sigfrid Söderberg and Andreas Wicklund.
The return of the Crazy Frog also comes with news of its own NFT release, expected to drop on Metabeats on December 23 – just in time for Christmas.
The official video for Crazy Frog’s ‘Axel F’ single, the world’s introduction to the creature, was uploaded to the streaming platform in June 2009. It has since registered 3.1billion views and is the 19th most popular clip in YouTube’s history.
Crazy Frog released various follow-up singles between 2005 and 2009, including ‘Popcorn’, ‘Crazy Frog In the House’ and ‘Cha Cha Slide’. Three studio albums arrived via Ministry Of Sound/Mach 1.
Now, TMZ reports that those charges have been dropped. According to TMZ, Flav – real name William Jonathan Drayton Jr. – pleaded no contest to one count of coercion. He was also reportedly fined $640, but will not serve any jail time.
In a statement, Flav’s legal team said, “Today the domestic violence charge against Mr. William Dayton (Flavor Flav) was dismissed.
“Mr. Dayton acknowledged the nonviolent act of grabbing a phone during the incident in question, a misdemeanor, and the case was closed by the court. Mr. Dayton and his family are grateful to bring an amicable close to this matter and appreciate everyone’s support as he continues his one-year journey of sobriety.”
“This is tired and stupid. Flav sues the folks he works with, so in 2017 he decided it was my turn,” Chuck D said.
“He lost when the judge dismissed the suit with prejudice in 2020, which means it’s permanent. Over. He can’t file again. He lost. Even after all of this, even after all the years of Flav giving the situation minimum while always asking for the maximum, I still work with him. But it’s time to change. Everybody in the situation can’t be burdened with picking up his slack.”
