Lucifer Netflix

The sixth and final season of Lucifer has been confirmed to run for a total of 10 episodes on Netflix.

The number clocks in at six less than season 5, the first half of which was released on August 21. 10 episodes were originally ordered, before then being expanded to 16 and set for a two-part release.

Lucifer will resume production later this month on the final episode of season 5 before moving forward with season 6, TVLine confirmed.

Regarding season 5, Kevin Alejandro recently responded to a fan theory about his on-screen daughter Trixie.

The actor, who plays Detective Dan in the show, said Trixie might already be aware of Lucifer’s identity when fans suggested the possibility.

“I mean that’s… I think it’s a strong assessment!” he said, adding: “You know, children are known to have sort of just this other sense before we’re weathered and chipped away by life.

“So, you know, I wouldn’t be surprised if she [did] know a little bit more than the rest!”

In a review of season five of Lucifer, NME wrote: “Lucifer has never truly got its hands dirty when it comes to portraying pure immorality – the notion that Ellis could be the embodiment of evil is one of the funniest things about the show – but, in this season and others, it does try to wrangle lessons about morality from its plots.

“For this, and for being a dynamic show on occasion, it should take credit. For its other characteristics, not so much.”
