‘Can You Feel My Heart’ is one of Bring Me The Horizon’s biggest songs. The smash hit single, taken from the band’s fourth album ‘Sempiternal’, was a key moment in their sonic development; but how did the group go about creating it? And what was it about writing ‘Sempiternal’ that meant Bring Me The Horizon’s sound started to change?

For the latest instalment of NME Explains we take a look back at how the band wrote ‘Can You Feel My Heart’. From its first inception in writing sessions in 2012, through the creative process (which saw Jordan Fish of electronic band Worship recruited to help the band with writing, and later joining the band full time), right up to the song’s huge success (over 70 million views on YouTube and counting!) and its recent TikTok resurgence, we talk you through the stone-cold smasher’s creation.
