Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have recorded a soundtrack for Andrew Dominik’s forthcoming Blonde film about the late Marilyn Monroe.

That’s according to The Guardian which also reports that Cave and Ellis will perform songs from albums including ‘Carnage‘ and ‘Ghosteen‘ for a new music film by Dominik.

Cave and Ellis previously worked with the director and screenwriter on his 2016 documentary One More Time With Feeling, which chronicles the recording of Cave’s ‘Skeleton Tree’ in the aftermath of his son Arthur’s death.

Speaking about working with Ellis, Cave told The Guardian: “It’s an incredible privilege to work with Warren. In any situation, he wants the best for me and I want the best for him. We have basically developed a way of working where we both relinquish control of the music we make together. We spend many hours improvising music together, sitting and playing in good faith without the politics and power grabs of many partnerships. We just let the songs find themselves.”

Dominik said: “Warren is a character. Just conversationally the way he can go off on these incredible verbal flights is quite something. Creatively, he’s incredibly open, but I have to say, he’s also enigmatic, even a bit secretive. He appears to be letting it all hang out, but he’s not really telling you anything about himself.”

Blonde is due to be released next year though no firm date has been set. The production is a biographical film based on the fictionalised novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, which was released in 2000.

The Netflix movie stars Ana De Armas in the titular role, joined by Julianne Nicholson, Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, among others.

Meanwhile, Cave and Ellis have announced that they will head out on their first ever UK tour as a duo this autumn.

The Bad Seeds duo will play 20 shows across September and autumn in support of their acclaimed album ‘Carnage’, which arrived earlier this year.

Don Cheadle plays down viral Kevin Hart interview: “It’s just us”

“EVERYBODY, please watch the entire episode”

Don Cheadle has set the record straight on a recent viral interview with Kevin Hart.

Fans took to social media after Hart seemed to insult Cheadle while mentioning his age, 56, during a conversation about generational wealth, after which Cheadle looked shocked and hurt.

Many criticised Hart’s comment on social media until Cheadle downplayed the interaction on his own Twitter feed.

“EVERYBODY, please watch the entire episode,” Cheadle wrote, responding to a fan who scorned Hart and called him “an ass” and tried to defend Cheadle.

“On top of understanding that this is just how we play it’s a really good one, I think. The first question he asks me is, ‘Drugs; do you do them?’ In the parking lot I said he looked like a black-o-lantern in that suit. It’s just us.”

Earlier this year Cheadle teased that a new Ocean’s movie might be in the works courtesy of director Steven Soderbergh.

Cheadle played explosives expert Basher in the original film. He worked recently with Soderbergh on his latest film No Sudden Move.

“We were talking about it [after Ocean’s Thirteen], and then Bernie [Mac] passed, and very quickly we were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do it,’” Cheadle told Entertainment Weekly.

“But I just did a movie with Steven and he said, ‘I think there may be a way to do it again. I’m thinking about it.’ And it didn’t go much further than that.”

He added: “But I don’t know; I don’t know who would be in it. I imagine the main group of us would be in. It would be interesting to see.”

Lil Uzi Vert announces three UK shows next month

Including one at London’s O2 Academy Brixton

Lil Uzi Vert has announced three new UK shows next month as part of Wireless Week.

The Philadelphia rapper will perform at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, the O2 Academy Birmingham and the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on September 6, 7 and 8, respectively. The three concerts are in the run-up to his set at London’s Wireless Festival on September 10.

Tickets go on sale at 10am BST this Thursday (August 19) and will be available to purchase here. See the dates in full below:

SEPTEMBER 2021:

Monday 06 – London, O2 Academy Brixton
Tuesday 07 – Birmingham, O2 Academy Birmingham
Wednesday 08 – Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse

Last month the rapper re-implanted his reported $24million diamond back into his head after removing it in June.

The rapper unveiled the new look in February and said that the pink rock is “10, almost 11 carats”, and also is the most expensive purchase he has ever made.

Despite a representative for jeweller Elliott Eliantte claiming that the diamond was as “safe as any other piercing”, Uzi claimed in June that the rock was causing him bleeding and that he would need to have it removed.

Elsewhere, Vert reportedly has his sights set on buying a planet, an acquisition which – if it were to go through – would make him the “first human to legally own a planet”, according to Grimes.

The electronic artist tweeted in July that documentation was “almost complete” for Lil Uzi Vert to legally claim the planet WASP-127b, a gas giant exoplanet 1.4 times larger than Jupiter that was discovered in 2016.

Lil Uzi Vert’s last album was 2020’s ‘Pluto x Baby Pluto’ with Future.

‘The Last of Us Part II’ could have had a battle royale mode

Datamined information suggest the game originally had plans for a large multiplayer mode

The post ‘The Last of Us Part II’ could have had a battle royale mode appeared first on NME.

NME

Before The Last of Us Part II was released, developers Naughty Dog confirmed that it wouldn’t include a multiplayer mode. But new information gathered from a dataminer has hinted at what was originally lined up for the game.

As part of the original The Last of Us game, Factions allowed players to pick from two clans, the Hunters or the Fireflies. These clans then battle it out against one another in teams of 12, playing one of three modes: Supply Raid, Survivors, or Interrogation.

During the development of The Last of Us Part II though, Naughty Dog shared an update saying the game wouldn’t include a multiplayer game mode because “the single player campaign is far and away the most ambitious project” they’d ever taken on.

“Likewise, as development began on the evolution of Factions, the vision of the team grew beyond an additional mode that could be included,” the post continued, with Naughty Dog hinting at a standalone Factions game. A job advert from earlier this year added more fuel to the fire.

However it appears dataminer Speclizer has uncovered a few files in The Last of Us Part II that hint at a battle royale mode, and perhaps give players an indication of what a potential Factions-inspired game would include.

The most notable discovery is a map prop. “Considering how big this map is, there’s a huge chance it could be used for a battle royale mode,” writes Speclizer in the resulting video. The map includes locations such as Adler Park, Camallito and Port of Camallito which make it seem like any battle royale games would take place in an area created by several single player areas, merged together.

“Didn’t mention it in the video but in the development footage, there’s a compass and a player count which is usually only used in battle royales,” Speclizer wrote in a pinned comment accompanying the video. “Oh and there’s also an emote wheel script.”

Speclizer also claims to have found backpack and armour models, but has so far been unable to restore them.

In other news, it’s been announced that BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites will be released September 9. The reworked version of BloodRayne Betrayal comes a full decade after it was originally released.

‘Call Of Duty: Mobile’ is adding classic ‘Black Ops’ and ‘MW’ weapons

Tell us about the update, Mason

Two weapons from Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 and the latest Modern Warfare game will be added to Call Of Duty: Mobile, following a teaser from the official Twitter account for the game.

After a first glimpse on Twitter, it seems like the Hades LMG from Black Ops 4 and the Crossbow from 2019’s Modern Warfare will be joining the weapons roster in Call Of Duty: Mobile.

The teaser was posted with “coming soon”, meaning that fans may not have long to wait before getting their hands on the weapons. Players are excited by the upcoming guns, with some voicing hopes that further guns from Call Of Duty: Black Ops will be added to the game eventually.

After Season Five of Call Of Duty: Mobile was a naval-themed outing, Season Six – titled The Heat – has thrown players a bunch of Summer-themed content.

This includes a brand-new Undead Siege mode where players “must survive against the undead over a period of five days and five nights”, which involves scavenging for supplies during the day and fighting zombies through the night.

As per a website page for the season, Season Six also added two new maps – Slums and Stack – as well as multiple new operators for players to choose from.

In other news, upcoming operator Osa will be the first trans character to join the Rainbow Six Siege roster when she hits test servers on August 17. Speaking more on the work behind making the game more diverse, a writer at Ubisoft stated that Osa “was written by a queer person and she is voiced by a trans women”.

In terms of her kit, Osa brings a see-through and bulletproof Talon-8 shield, which can provide a significant tactical advantage for her team during breaches and other objective pushes.
