Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has revealed that he has been stalked by adult fans.

The actor, who plays Mike Wheeler on the Netflix series, recalled one concerning incident after the show first came out in 2016.

“When I was 13, some adults followed me back to my condo when I was shooting It,” he told Mastermind magazine.

Stranger Things had just come out, and I was by myself. As I walked faster, they walked faster, and I was getting a bit antsy by the time I got to the door. Suddenly, they were like, ‘Hey, dude, can we get a selfie?’ And I was like, ‘No you can’t have a selfie! How about don’t follow children?'”

He further recalled: “I also had my taxi followed and, out of the taxi, the person continued to be pretty relentless.”

Wolfhard – who was in the band Calpurnia and currently plays in The Aubreys – also revealed that has had to “stop shows because people were getting crushed”.

The actor and musician formed the new outfit last year soon after Calpurnia split up, and one of their songs will feature on the soundtrack for Wolfhard’s new film The Turning.

Meanwhile, the actor’s fellow Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about the “pain and insecurity” she felt after falling victim to online trolls.

Posting on her birthday, she wrote: “The last few years haven’t been easy, I’ll admit that. there are moments i get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me. but not ever will i be defeated. ill continue doing what i love and spreading the message in order to make change.”

The pair will return for the fourth season of Stranger Things, which recently revealed a character previously presumed dead would return in a teaser.

Joe Lycett has announced that he has legally changed his name to Hugo Boss to protest against the fashion company.

The comedian confirmed that he has changed his name by deed poll, explaining that he wanted to highlight the fashion house – which often stylises itself as “boss” – for its practice of sending cease-and-desist letters to smaller companies and charities who use the word boss in their names.

“It’s clear that @HUGOBOSS HATES people using their name,” the now-named Boss wrote on Twitter to accompany an image of his deed poll letter, which includes a new signature that reverses the “u” to a phallic shape.

“Unfortunately for them this week I legally changed my name by deed poll and I am now officially known as Hugo Boss. All future statements from me are not from Joe Lycett but from Hugo Boss. Enjoy.”

He particularly highlighted the fact that the German fashion house had sent a cease-and-desist letter to a Welsh brewery called Boss Brewing, landing them with thousands of pounds in legal fees, according to WalesOnline.

The comedian elaborated further on the Victoria Derbyshire show today (March 2): “I would like them to stop doing this, because no-one is confusing these two things.

“But also […] I’d really like them to give them their money back really and promise to stop – and an apology would be nice, Hugo?”

The fashion company also sent a letter to charity DarkGirlBoss when they tried to trademark their name, according to the i newspaper.

Boss’s (the comedian) name has changed on Twitter – with his bio now reading “I am the comedian formerly known as Joe Lycett” – while his Wikipedia page has also been updated.

The company Hugo Boss was originally founded in 1924 and infamously supplied uniforms for the Nazi party. They apologised in 2011 for using forced labour to produce the uniforms.

Anthony Mackie has confirmed that he will be taking over the mantle of Captain America in upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers handed over his mantle to Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon, and it seems he will be holding it up going forward.

Speaking in a new interview with Shadow and Act, the actor said: “With the idea of being a black man and becoming Captain America, it’s been a daunting task because I think, at this day and age in America, I think we are open-minded to the idea of having my face represent us, as a country, my race represents us as a country, because we’re truly a melting pot.

“So there is no distinctive look or feel or design of an American. We’re all Americans. So to be Captain America, I want my Captain America to represent everybody, not just a specific group of people.”

Mackie will be joined by Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp and Wyatt Russell also appearing.

The show is one of a number of new Marvel Disney+ shows including WandaVision, starring Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen as Vision and Scarlet Witch, Loki starring Tom Hiddleston and Hawkeye with Jeremy Renner.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was recently forced to cancel a shoot in Puerto Rico due to recent earthquakes.

In other Marvel news, newly emerged concept art recently revealed that Endgame originally planned to kill off Nick Fury.

Fans think Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’ predicted the coronavirus outbreak

2011 movie starring Gwyneth Paltrow depicts a global pandemic

Amid the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, many people are noting similarities between what is unfolding and the 2011 movie Contagion.

The Steven Soderbergh film, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard and Jude Law, depicts the outbreak of an epidemic as the scientific community races to contain a fictional virus, called MEV-1.

Fans have been comparing Contagion to the current coronavirus outbreak, with many plot elements mirroring what is going on in real life.

Among them is the spread of false information and how it exacerbates fear in the public, which is shown in the movie by Law’s conspiracy theorist Alan Krumwiede. His character spreads misinformation about the government having a cure, creating increased panic.

The film also shows officials responding to the outbreak by putting economic concerns ahead of public well-being, deciding to keep the disease secret from the public. This is similar to how the Chinese government initially denied knowledge of the coronavirus in its early stages.

Also similar is how the MEV-1 virus in the film is shown to have originated in China, where COVID-19 was also first identified.

As things stand, over 86,000 people have been infected with coronavirus, with more than 3,000 deaths. In the UK, 36 cases have been confirmed.

Speaking back in 2011 after Contagion was released, a leading scientist who advised the film said that it may not be far from reality.

“Scientists have been accused of overreacting and crying wolf over the threat of virus outbreaks after the influenza pandemic of 2009,” Dr Ian Lipkin said.

“Sars [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] didn’t progress beyond a few locations, but outbreaks and pandemics will occur and we need to get our heads out of the sand and realise the real risks that we face. More than three-quarters of all emerging infectious diseases originate when microbes jump from wildlife to humans.

“Our vulnerability to such diseases has been heightened by the growth in international travel and the globalisation of food production. In addition, deforestation and urbanisation continue to displace wildlife, increasing the probability that wild creatures will come into contact with domesticated animals and humans.”

‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ novel reveals how cloning brought Palpatine back to life

One of the movie’s biggest mysteries has been solved

Star Wars appears to have finally revealed how Emperor Palpatine was brought back to life in The Rise of Skywalker.

The film received a mixed reception when it was released last year, some of the criticism arguing that it failed to explain how the villain could return given his apparent death in Return of the Jedi.

However, advanced copies of Lucasfilm’s official novelisation of The Rise of Skywalker have reportedly been distributed at Chicago’s C232 convention, with an extract posted on social media revealing that the Palpatine we saw was actually a clone.

The passage, which takes place during the scene where Kylo Ren encounters the Emperor on Exegol for the first time, reads: “All the vials were empty of liquid save one, which was nearly depleted.

“Kylo peered closer. He’d seen this apparatus before, too, when he’d studied the Clone Wars as a boy. The liquid flowing into the living nightmare before him was fighting a losing battle to sustain the Emperor’s putrid flesh.

“‘What could you give me?’ Kylo asked. Emperor Palpatine lived, after a fashion, and Kylo could feel in his very bones that this clone body sheltered the Emperor’s actual spirit. It was an imperfect vessel, though, unable to contain his immense power. It couldn’t last much longer.”

The moment also suggests that the clone body is too weak to be able to contain Palpatine’s Dark Side power, hence why it is so decrepit.

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm has announced a new series of books and comics called The High Republic to kick-off Star Wars‘ next phase.

The series will be set 200 years before The Phantom Menace, and will kick-off with novels Light of the Jedi, A Test of Courage, The High Republic, Into the Dark and The High Republic Adventures.

‘The Walking Dead’ boss explains big showdown in latest episode

The Walking Dead‘s eventful latest episode saw a big showdown that left two major characters bloodied and near death.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 10 are posted below

In ‘Stalker’, Alpha and Daryl face-off in an intense fight, with the latter being saved in the end thanks to a timely intervention by Alpha’s daughter Lydia.

Speaking about why they decided to have these two big characters fight at this point in the show, Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang admitted that they were desperate to put the pair in a scene.

Norman Reedus as Daryl in ‘The Walking Dead’

“It was actually something that we questioned like, ‘Should we?’ And then we’re like, ‘We really want to put these two in a scene,’ because Daryl was the one that Alpha took to the edge of the cliff and kind of said, ‘Here’s my horde,’ basically,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“So it feels like as all these things are spinning out and Carol is just so determined to take out the Whisperers and the threat of the horde and everything that crashing these two leaders together, it felt like it would be a good time to do it.

“But it’s also complicated between the two of them. They’re both so formidable that we were asking ourselves the question, ‘How do you get into a fight with the two of them, without both of them dying, or one of them dying?'”

‘The Walking Dead’

Kang continued: “The answer was kind of, ‘I think they get so badly wounded that they are both at the brink of death, and what does that story look like?” That’s where the story started from. It really became a showcase for those performances, which I thought was really exciting.”

‘Stalker’ also saw Beta infiltrate Alexandria thanks to a secret tunnel dug by Dante, killing several Alexandrians and capturing Gamma. However, Beta was later overpowered by the others and fled the scene.

As for what we can expect next, Kang teased: “Alpha has had this confrontation with her daughter and we heard Michonne say early in the season, ‘We got to make sure Lydia stays safe because she’s some protection for us basically.’

“So now everything’s going to change, and this war with the Whisperers is really going to heat up. In the next episode, we’re going to see what happens when our people are convinced that the Whisperers are on their way and that really becomes the major story going forward. And then all of the fallout from that happens as our two societies really clash in a big way.”

Meanwhile, Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s wife Hilarie Burton reacted on social media to his strange sex scene with Alpha in last week’s episode of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead season 10 airs in the UK on Mondays at 9PM on FOX.

Run, the new HBO/Sky Comedy series executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, has dropped its first trailer.

Created by frequent collaborator Vicky Jones, the series follows a woman, Ruby (Merritt Wever), whose life is turned upside-down when she meets her college sweetheart, Billy (Domhnall Gleeson), to fulfil a pact made 17 years earlier.

That pact is to drop everything and travel across America together if either texted the word “run” to the other.

In the first trailer, Ruby tries to get to the bottom of why Billy texted him as they both try to learn how honest they have been with each other.

As well as executive producing, Waller-Bridge will guest star as a woman the pair meet on their journey.

Run was first announced back in 2018, with Jones describing it as a “badass romantic comedy thriller”. It is set to premiere on HBO on April 12 and Sky Comedy on April 15.

Meanwhile, since wrapping-up Fleabag last year, Waller-Bridge has been busy working on the script for new James Bond film No Time to Die.

With it, she becomes the second-ever credited female Bond writer, though has hit back at claims she was brought on board to help with the film’s female characters.

“That didn’t really come into the conversation,” she said. “That’s only really the press that have made that thing, in terms of me being a woman, you can see it is a button-pressing thing.

“The reality was I got a call from [producer] Barbara [Broccoli] and Daniel [Craig] saying, ‘We like your work, can you come in and help us?’. There wasn’t ever really a conversation about can you come in and help us with ‘the ladies’.”

Caroline Flack will make her final on-screen appearance in the upcoming Steve Coogan film Greed following her death over the weekend.

The former Love Island presenter was found dead in her London home on Saturday (February 15), with a lawyer for her family saying that she had taken her own life.

Flack can be seen at the start of the trailer for Greed, which stars Coogan as billionaire high-street mogul.

In the clip, she is seen presenting a cheque to Coogan and Isla Fishers’ characters, saying: “Now time for the man you’ve all been waiting for… the king of the high street”.

Watch the trailer below:

Flack’s family confirmed the news of her death over the weekend, saying in a statement: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February.

“We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us.”

Since the news broke, stars have commented on social media, including musicians James Blake and Liam Gallagher.

Taking to Twitter, Blake wrote: “#rip Caroline Flack. This is the effect of online and print bullying. This is what dehumanizing and hounding people leads to.

“As a society we need to find our compassion and empathy. We don’t know what other people are going through as they almost always present an ‘ok’ front.”

Blake’s girlfriend, Jameela Jamil – who has been the subject of online and print bullying – said: “It was only a matter of time before the media and a prolonged social media dogpile, hers lasted for MONTHS, pushed someone completely over the edge. Rest In Peace Caroline Flack. This is fucking horrendous.”

Ricky Gervais took aim at the Oscars with a number of scathing jibes on his Twitter ahead of last night’s (February 9) ceremony.

The comedian, who controversially hosted the Golden Globes for a fifth time last month, made a number of “best first jokes” after a user asked what jokes he himself would make if he were hosting the Academy Awards.

Suggesting one, he tweeted: “I can’t wait to hear all your inspirational speeches about equality, and it’s great that the 3 hours you’re here tonight is the only time your badly paid migrant house staff will get some time off to sleep this week.”

He wrote in another: “It’s great to see such diversity in the room tonight. Rich sex pests of all shapes and sizes.”

Later on, he clarified his stance on celebrities making political statements in awards speeches, tweeting: “I have nothing against the most famous people in the world using their privileged, global platform to tell the world what they believe.

“I even agree with most of it. I just tried to warn them that when they lecture everyday, hard working people, it has the opposite effect. Peace.”

For the second year in a row, the Oscars went hostless, instead kicking off with a musical number from Janelle Monae before a segment from Steve Martin and Chris Rock.

The night’s big winner was Parasite, which made history as the first non-English language film to win Best Picture. On the acting side of things, Joaquin Phoenix, Renee Zellweger, Brad Pitt and Laura Dern took home the four main gongs.

James Corden admits there are “no plans” for more ‘Gavin & Stacey’

Though he confirms they will “sit down and think about that at some point”

James Corden has admitted there are “no plans” to make more Gavin & Stacey following the success of the Christmas special.

The one-off episode became a huge hit for the BBC, and was reportedly streamed for the equivalent of 80 years by viewers.

As such, there have been calls for more episodes to be made, though co-creator Corden has revealed there is nothing in the pipeline as of yet.

“We have no plans to make another one, not at the moment,” he told Lorraine at last night’s (February 9) Oscars.

“We’ll have a sit down and think about that at some point but we certainly haven’t had that discussion yet. We’re over the moon that many people would watch it, it’s a mind-blowing number.”

Corden’s fellow star Rob Brydon, who plays Bryn on the sitcom, is less enthusiastic about the idea of new episodes, however.

“There are no plans whatsoever, and personally I would say leave it where it is, with people wanting more,” he said recently.

“It’s always my instinct and I said that before this special. I was very surprised, then, to see that they [Corden and Jones] had written it.”

He added: “Everyone is saying: ‘You must really want to do more.’ But I’d much rather leave it on a high. It’s really hard to come back after 10 years and to make something as popular as it has been, because you can get it wrong.”

Despite its success, the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special drew some controversy too, with nearly 900 complaints lodged over the inclusion of a homophobic lyric as characters sing The Pogues’ ‘Fairytale of New York’.
