In a new interview with Metal Musikast, Sharon Den Adel of Dutch metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION once again was asked about why she and her bandmates feel the need to voice their political views in some of their recently released songs, including "Wireless" and the title track of their new album "Bleed...
The song was posted on the rapper’s X account today (April 20), the latest in a string of shots back and forth between the two artists.
The first verse on the track has been manipulated to sound like 2Pac, with lines including: “Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior / Engraving your name in some hip-hop history / Fuck this Canadian light-skin, Dot / We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man”.
That is swiftly followed by the AI Snoop, who also goads Kendrick into defending the West Coast legacy: “I know you never been to jail, or wore jumpsuits and shower shoes / Never shot nobody, never stabbed nobody / Never did nothing violent to no one, it’s the homies that empower you / But, still, you gotta show this fucking owl who’s boss on the West / Now’s a time to really make a power move”.
On the final verse, Drake’s true voice comes through: “I guess you need another week to figure out how to improve / What the fuck is taking so long, we waitin’ on you / The rest of y’all are definitely involved, y’all gettin’ it too / Soon as you get the courage to drop, I’m out on the loose“.
Drizzy also uses the dominance of Taylor Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ to mock Kendrick: “But now we gotta wait a fucking week ’cause Taylor Swift is your new top / And if you ’bout to drop, she gotta approve”.
The issue began on the 2023 single ‘First Person Shooter’, when Drake compared himself to Michael Jackson, after tying him for the most Number One singles on the Billboard charts.
Last weekend (April 13), Drake seemingly replied on the diss track, ‘Push Ups (Drop And Give Me 50)’. “This the bark with the bite, nigga, what’s up? / How the fuck you been steppin’ with a size seven mens on?” he rapped, alluding to Lamar’s fifth studio album ‘Mr Morale & The Big Steppers’. The Californian has yet to drop a rebuttal to ‘Push Ups’.
Fans thought Lamar had responded to Drake when a song called ‘One Shot’ leaked online. The track turned out to be fake, though, as TikTok rapper-producer SyTheRapper revealed he created it using AI. “I shocked myself,” he said. “I thought people were going to be able to tell it was fake, but people did actually think it was real.”
However, Rick Ross legitimately replied to ‘Push Ups’ with the equally venomous ‘Champagne Moments’. On the song, he accused Drake of getting a nose job and sending a cease-and-desist to French Montana. The latter was later confirmed by their label owner, Gamma CEO Larry Jackson.

Drake, forever thirsty for attention, is continuing to bait Kendrick Lamar. After releasing “Push Ups” on DSPs on Friday, the Toronto rapper has dropped a second diss track. This one, titled “Taylor Made Freestyle,” includes AI verses made to sound like Tupac and Snoop Dogg. “Kendrick, we need ya, the…

The track ’Florida!!!’ on the album includes a feature from Florence Welch, but the official credits also list Stone as having added “oddities” to the track.
No further information has been provided about exactly what the double Oscar winner added to the final song. Listen to the track below:
In a three-star review of the album, NME wrote: “‘The Tortured Poets Department’ ends up chasing its own tail with frenzied attempts to respond to critics despite Swift’s current stature.”
It continued: “Swift seems to be in tireless pursuit for superstardom, yet the negative public opinion it can come with irks her, and it’s a tired theme now plaguing her discography and leaving little room for the poignant lyrical observations she excels at. It’s why the pitfalls that mire her 11th studio album are all the more disappointing – she’s proven time and time again she can do better.
“To a Melbourne audience of her ‘Eras Tour’, Swift said that ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ came from a “need” to write. It’s just that maybe we didn’t need to hear it.”

The London artist has dismissed the rapper as “catty” in a new interview, adding that he is not an artist that represents radical values and has not spoken enough out on social issues.
Speaking to The Guardian, George said: “Kendrick Lamar is a non-revolutionary cosplaying as a revolutionary. [He is someone] who’s been silent about very important things at very important times.”
“And now that he has a little catty moment, we’re acting like hip-hop’s back? I don’t want to be part of that.”
“We all had record deals at some point. We all had fame and ratings and commercial opportunities,” he continued. “But if you get to that point, and you notice that the upward trajectory of your career in no way reflects the condition of your community, you have decisions to make.”
Yesterday, Drake continued to taunt Kendrick, telling fans that K-Dot “has nothing to drop” in response to Drizzy’s ‘Push Ups’ diss track.
