US rapper CyHi The Prynce has alleged he was the target of an assassination attempt that caused him to flip his car.

Prynce, 36, whose real name is Cydel Charles Young, claims he was driving on a highway in Atlanta when someone shot at him. Itā€™s not known if he was left with any injuries.

ā€œToday is a day about love, but in my city (the city of Atlanta) thereā€™s no love here anymore. a couple nights ago there was an attempt on my lifeā€¦ somebody tried to gun me down on the highway,ā€ Young wrote in an Instagram post yesterday (February 14). ā€œI tried everything I could do to lose them, but they were adament [sic] about taking me off this earth.ā€

He continued: ā€œThey where shooting at me while I was driving and even after my car flipped, hit a pole and crashed into a tree, they came back and shot the car up some more.ā€

Young, who is signed to Kanye Westā€˜s G.O.O.D. Music label, added that he has no idea why he was targeted. ā€œAt this point I donā€™t know if it was a mistaken identity, a robbery, or associated with something that I did when I was younger but I havenā€™t been in the streets in over a decade.

ā€œI just want to let the people know who were trying to kill me that i am not a bad person. I donā€™t want revenge, I just want understanding and closure.

He rounded off his message with a plea to end violence in Atlanta. ā€œI donā€™t have all the answers and I definitely donā€™t have the power to make it stop, but i do feel like somebody gotta step up and say something.

ā€œSo much love to every artist, label, hustler, and crew in my city pleaseee lets resolve our problems man. We donā€™t have to kill each other man.ā€

Prynceā€™s alleged incident comes months after Chicago rapper King Von was killed outside an Atlanta hookah bar.

Big Sean,Ā YGĀ andĀ Chance The Rapper were among those mourning the 26-year-oldā€™s death on November 6, 2020.

CHEVELLEā€™s PETE And SAM LOEFFLER Discuss ā€˜Niratiasā€™ Songwriting And Recording Process

CHEVELLE frontman Pete Loeffler and drummer Sam Loeffler spoke to Lou Brutus or HardDrive Radio about their upcoming album, ā€œNiratiasā€ (Nothing Is Real And This Is A Simulation), which is due on March 5. According to Pete, the follow-up to 2016ā€™s ā€œThe ā€¦

BLABBERMOUTH.NET

CHEVELLE frontman Pete Loeffler and drummer Sam Loeffler spoke to Lou Brutus or HardDrive Radio about their upcoming album, "Niratias" (Nothing Is Real And This Is A Simulation), which is due on March 5. According to Pete, the follow-up to 2016's "The North Corridor" was recorded over a couple of different sessions spread over a 12-month period prior to the start of the coronavirus pandemic. "We went into the studio in 2019 ā€” in the [spring]," he said. "So, eight songs were recorded in 2019. And then we did a couple of tours, wrote some more music, went back in March of 2020. And we, under a lot of duress ā€” 'cause everything was starting to happen; they were closing down [due to the pandemic] ā€” and we recorded five more tracks, give or take, and completed the album. And then we skedaddled back to Chicagoland March 18th, which was the day that they shut down all the restaurants in L.A., which is where we were. And then we hunkered down for 2020." Elaborating on the recording process for "Niratias", Sam said: "We did this album with [producer] Joe Barresi [TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE]. It's our fourth album with him, which is great. I think he's tired of us nowā€¦ But he was great. We did it at his studio [in Pasadena, California]. We would have probably done stuff earlier, but he had this idea for us that he ā€” he had some songs in his head that he wanted us to write. Not literally, but he was just, like, 'I want you to go back and keep writing, and focus on this or that.' And then Pete did. And I remember when he sent in one of the songs, Joe called back, and he's, like, 'You did it. I can't stop playing this song. This is what I was looking for from you. Now just write five more of those.'" Added Pete: "It was a low point to hear him say, 'I like these eight. I don't like these other eight. Go back. And it was, like, a low point. But then what that did was, once I got the hurt aspect of that, we got back to work, and then the next song we wrote was a song called 'Mother Earth'. And he listened to it three times in a row and called us excited. And that was one of the best feelings I had on the whole process. So I knew we were on to something." "Niratias" features artwork by Boris Vallejo. The famed and award-winning artist is responsible for the posters used for films like "Knightriders" and "National Lampoon's Vacation", as well as iconic 1970s and 1980s science fiction novel covers and magazines (such as Heavy Metal). Pete previously told "Loudwire Nights"' about the overall lyrical direction of "Niratias": "It has a lot of space to it, a lot of interstellar travel to it. You've got Elon Musk trying to get to Mars and that was completely fascinating to me so when I write lyrics, it's just kind of made its way in there. As you'll see with the cover, it's sort of space themed as well. He added: "I love the idea of the cosmos and I love Carl Sagan and Elon Musk and Neil deGrasse Tyson and all these people that look beyond and look to the future. Getting off this planet is part of that future if we can do it. It's funny when you started to delve into it how difficult that really is. How are you gonna deal with radiation out in a spaceship for nine months or longer than that? It's fascinating. It just made its way into the music." "The North Corridor" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart and produced a No. 1 Mainstream Rock single, "Joyride (Omen)". The band's album of rarities from 2002-2016, "12 Bloody Spies: B-Sides And Rarities", was released in October 2018 via Epic. In September 2019, CHEVELLE bassist Dean Bernardini announced that he would "take a break from the road" after completing that year's shows with his bandmates. He added that he would "continue to work" in music in some form or another while also putting time into his art and furniture business at home. Bernardini had been with CHEVELLE since 2005, even though 2007's "Vena Sera" marked his first studio recording with the band.

Twenty One Pilots continue to tease new era with cryptic selfie

Is new music on the way?

Twenty One Pilots have continued to tease a new era of music by sharing a cryptic selfie.

The Ohio duo, comprised of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, previously teased fans last month by updating the headers of their social media channels with an orange-tinged photo of the pair in an empty venue staring at a stage, with their ā€˜Trenchā€™Ā era logo in between.

However, it now seems that a blue era could be the next chapter after singer Tyler Joseph shared a photo to his Instagram stories of a selfie featuring a blue symbol over his right eye.

Eagled-eyed fans have since spotted that the symbol in question is Psi, the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet, prompting them to question if if it could be a subtle reference to Tylerā€™s fascination with psychology ā€“Ā  which is commonly explored in the bandā€™s lyrics.

While itā€™s the scarcest of hints, the US duo are known for playing cat-and-mouse with their fans and eleased ā€˜Trenchā€™, their fifth album, in 2018 via an elaborate trail of breadcrumbs that involved cryptic clues smuggled in awards acceptance speeches and semi-secret websites.

There have already been fan theories about the arrival of new Twenty One Pilots music following the ending of their ā€˜never-endingā€™ music video for ā€˜Level Of Concernā€™, which recentlyĀ broke the Guinness world record for ā€˜longest music video everā€™.

tylerā€™s new insta story from twentyonepilots

Last MayĀ Joseph also said the band could release their next album ā€œsooner than we were planningā€. Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Musicā€™s Beats 1, Joseph said he didnā€™t know if the new record would be an ā€œin-between record or if itā€™s a continuation of the narrative and where we left offā€.

He said: ā€œItā€™s kind of hard for me to tap into the story of ā€˜Trenchā€™ and what weā€™ve been building on up until that point without being out there, without touring, without having those live shows, without interacting with our fans.

ā€œMan, as much as I appreciate everyone getting on their computer and playing acoustic bedroom versions of stuff, itā€™s old to me. I donā€™t want to just do that. I want to talk to our fans through a record.ā€

ā€˜Buffyā€™ star David Boreanaz shares support for Charisma Carpenter amid Joss Whedon allegations

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star David Boreanaz has shared his support for co-star Charisma Carpenter after she accused creator Joss Whedon of abuse on set.

The Cordelia Chase actress alleged that Whedon created ā€œhostile and toxic work environmentsā€ and claimed that he was responsible for ā€œongoing, passive-aggressive threatsā€ against her.

A number of Buffy stars have since spoken out in support of Carpenter, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, who said she ā€œdoesnā€™t want to be forever associatedā€ with Whedonā€™s name, as well as Eliza Dushku, Amber Benson, Michelle Trachtenberg and James Marsters.

Boreanaz, who played Angel on Buffy and its spin-off based on his character, has shared a message in response to Carpenterā€™s original post, after switching his previously-private Twitter profile to public.

ā€œI am here for you to listen and support you. Proud of your strength,ā€ he wrote.

Carpenter then replied: ā€œI know youā€™re there for me, David. I appreciate all youā€™ve done to demonstrate that support privately as well. Especially since Wednesday. -Thank you so much.ā€

In her original statement, the actress said: ā€œFor nearly two decades, I have held my tongue and even made excuses for certain events that traumatize me to this day. Joss Whedon abused his power on numerous occasions while working together on the sets of Buffy the Vampire SlayerĀ andĀ Angel.ā€

She continued: ā€œWhile he found his misconduct amusing, it only served to intensify my performance anxiety, disempower me, and alienate me from my peers. The disturbing incidents triggered a chronic physical condition from which I still suffer.

ā€œIt is with a beating, heavy heart that I say I coped in isolation and, at times, destructively.ā€

Carpenter also claimed Whedon had ā€œa history of being casually cruel,ā€ and that he called her ā€œfatā€ to colleagues while four months pregnant. She also called Whedon ā€œmean and bitingā€ and accused him of ā€œmanipulatively [weaponising] my womanhood and faith against meā€, and said she participated in the WarnerMedia investigation launched by Justice Leagueā€˜s Ray Fisher.

She concluded: ā€œIt has taken me so long to muster the courage to make this statement publicly. The gravity of it is not lost on me. As a single mother whose familyā€™s livelihood is dependent on my craft, Iā€™m scared.

ā€œDespite my fear about its impact on my future, I can no longer remain silent. This is overdue and necessary. It is time.ā€

NME have contacted Whedon for comment, though he is yet to respond to any of the allegations.

Players of Call of Duty: Warzone have discovered new weather changes in the latest update, causing mysterious lightning storms to occur.

Although it is not known what these storms are for, fans have suggested that something is afoot. The lightning storms strike Verdansk randomly, and a tweet from Modern Warzone drew some suggestions on the updateā€™s potential for a big reveal.

Some speculated that this was a teaser of full weather systems coming toĀ Warzone Season 2. This user said as much, adding that the addition would ā€œfeel alot more immersiveā€.

Some also thought the lightning was a sign that zombies would come to Warzone, although many were not keen. This reply implored the team to ā€œkeep that separate. Please.ā€

Recently, Raven Software ā€“ the developers behind Call of Duty: Warzone ā€“ have stepped up their anti-cheat measures. The move saw them banning over 60,000 cheaters in under a week, stating there were ā€œmore to comeā€.

A Reddit user also discovered a way to use a hidden weapon whilst playing Warzone using weapon drops in a Plunder match. The gun is a fully-automatic pistol based on the Makarov, with a 27 round magazine that can be upgraded with an 80 round drum magazine. The Sykov is also eligible for dual-wielding.

The Who have cancelled their UK and Ireland tour that was scheduled for next month.

The 10-date jaunt, which was due to kick off in Dublin on March 5 and end in Manchester on March 29, will no longer go ahead due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

In a statement, The Whoā€™s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend said: ā€œWe are very sorry that we have to cancel our planned March 2021 UK and Ireland shows.

ā€œPlease excuse the delay but we wanted to wait as long as possible to see if we could indeed play them. However, as you can see the current situation makes this impossible. Thanks for all your wonderful support and we hope to see you in the future when conditions allow.ā€

The band has already postponed the original tour from last March to March 2021 when the pandemic originally caused hundreds of acts to cancel their shows.

Customers can contact their point of purchase for refunds to The Whoā€™s UK and Ireland tour, which currently has no rescheduled dates.

The Who arenā€™t the first band to announce the cancellation of a tour this week. Yungblud has been forced to again postpone his intimate ā€˜Occupy the UKā€™ tour, which was rescheduled for next month, due to the ongoing pandemic.

But some artists are continuing to book tours for later in the year when it is hoped that restrictions will be eased and safety protocols thoroughly established. Slowthai, for instance, has today (February 15) shared details of his small UK venue tour in August and September.

KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who is currently promoting the second album from his LOVE AND DEATH side project, spoke to U.K.'s Rock Sound TV about the band's plans for the coming months. He said (see video below): "We've got some big plans coming this year we're gonna announce. I've been flying all over the place and seeing the KORN guys. And we have some really exciting news coming this year. So our fans are gonna be ready to do some cool stuff with us this year. "A lot of stuff has been going on," he continued. "But, yeah, we're trying to come up with some unique things. I know a lot of people are gonna come out with new music, because you're stuck at home, and there's nothing else to do but write music, so it's pretty obvious that people are working on music. But we're coming up with a lot more cool ideas than just music. We're just really brainstorming about how to do something new and fresh. 'Cause we've been around so long. You've got bands like TOOL and SYSTEM OF A DOWN ā€” these other bands that go away. Even DISTURBED was gone for, like five years. BREAKING BENJAMIN was gone four years or something. KORN is always just 'go, go, go.' And so we're really just regrouping and trying to come up with something fresh and new for 2021 and beyond, to just make it exciting again. 'Cause we're still excited. And so we wanna make things exciting for our fans and just have a good time. So we'll be announcing something pretty soon." In October, KORN and free-to-play video game titan World Of Tanks Blitz launched a special Halloween collaboration, revealing the music video for "Finally Free", a track featured on KORN's latest studio album, "The Nothing". Thee months earlier, KORN released a cover of THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND classic "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", featuring a guest appearance by rapper YelaWolf, exclusively via Bandcamp. All proceeds from the track were donated to Awakening Youth, a nonprofit organization devoted to young people faced with the loss of a parent due to divorce, addiction, death, being surrendered for adoption, or other reasons. "The Nothing" was released in September 2019 via Roadrunner/Elektra. The follow-up to 2016's "The Serenity Of Suffering" was once again produced by Nick Raskulinecz.

Britney Spears documentary Framing Britney Spears is set to be available for UK viewers from this week.

The film, which looks at the singerā€™s career and the #FreeBritney campaign over the conservatorship she is under, has been widely talked-about since its release in the US a few weeks ago.

Viewers in Britain will be able to stream the documentary on Sky Documentaries and NOW TV tomorrow (February 16), both live from 9pm and on-demand thereafter.

Since the film aired in the US, a number of famous names including Paramoreā€˜s Hayley Williams, Kacey Musgraves, Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler have shared their support for Spears.

A clip of talk show host Craig FergusonĀ in which he refuses to mock spears amid her widely-publicised breakdown in 2007 has also gone viral since.

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake, who has faced renewed scrutiny over his treatment of Spears during their relationship, has since apologised to her, as well as Janet Jackson over their 2004 Super Bowl performance.

ā€œIā€™ve seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right,ā€ he said. ā€œI understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.ā€

ā€œI specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed.ā€

ā€˜Framing Britney Spearsā€™ is available on Sky Documentaries or with a contract-free NOW TV Entertainment PassĀ for Ā£9.99 a month, a 7-day free trial is available for new users.
