Returning from the first game, the Lorestangir, or lore stones, are hidden throughout Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2‘s different chapters. These pillars, when focused on, will see one of Senua’s old friends, Druth, tell old tales from Norse mythology.
In this article, you can find all of the Lorestangir locations in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, most of which you will pass naturally as you make your way through the game. But a few of them are hidden in sneaky spots. Here is where they all are, so you can hear the full tale of Grattir and net yourself an achievement.
‘Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2’ Lorestangir locations
There are 18 total Lorestangir in the game:
Lorestangir 1 location – Chapter 1, Ocean Cliffside
Early on, after gaining control of Senua and starting the first chapter, you will shimmy along a cliffside above some water. Loop around ahead and on your right, you will see the Lorestangir. Use the focus button to activate this stone and the rest of them.
This one is practically impossible to miss.
Lorestangir 2 location – Chapter 2, Outer Village
When walking with the captured slaver, you are in an open field just on the outer edge of the village at the start of the chapter. Keep to your right and you will see the Lorestangir behind some houses. It is located before you reach the broken bridge to the entrance of the village.
Lorestangir 3 location – Chapter 2, Inner Village
The next stone is a little further on. After solving the rune puzzle, the sky will turn dark and you will cross a bridge, then making your way through a small house. As you exit, turn to the left and you will see a small fenced off area around the other side of the house you just went through.
Head through and then take another left and head through the gap in the gap in the branches piled up. Here you can find the Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 4 location – Chapter 2, Ritual Site Hillside
When inside the ritual area, you will reach a cutscene that focuses on a man at the ritual site. Continue onwards alongside the hillside from here and shimmy across the cliff. After passing a lit torch on your right, you will see this ladder and lit torch on your left. Climb up the ladder and follow the path down to reach the lore stone.
Lorestangir 5 location – Chapter 2, Village Cliff
When you exit the ritual site with Fargrimer, continue following him for a while. He will eventually head down a slope on the right. Instead of following him, take a left at the stick embedded within some rocks. Follow the path down to find the next Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 6 location – Chapter 3, Dilapidated Village
When following both Fargrimer and Thorgester, you will reach a large open field with destroyed houses and cracks in the ground. Instead of following them both, turn left and follow the crack in the ground. Follow the path around, and then look on your right to find the lore stone in the back corner.
Lorestangir 7 location – Chapter 3, Fargrimer’s Settlement
After the cutscene where Fargrimer has camped out, he will send you to find the Hiddenfolk. Instead of heading forward, turn around and loop around the back of his settlement. You will walk along the cliff edge, and then, when next to the house on the rock with the people talking, look to your left.
Lorestangir 8 location – Chapter 3, Post-First Puzzle Side Path
After solving the first puzzle with the stones, continue onward. You will eventually see a small gap you need to crouch through. Before going through, look opposite that gap to find a cliff you can climb. Up here is the next Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 9 location – Chapter 3, Post-Second Puzzle Side Path
Just after that, after going through the gap, you will have another puzzle to solve. Once solved, squeeze through the gap ahead and jump down the two small ledges. Continue on past the small pool of water, and then take an immediate left. Here, you can squeeze through a gap to find the next Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 10 location – Chapter 3, Post-Second Puzzle Behind Rock
Where you turned left to get the last stone, this time return to the spot and turn to your right. Here you will see a small gap you can crouch through in the rock. Follow this path to find the Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 11 location – Chapter 3, Inside Third Puzzle
This Lorestangir is undoubtedly the easiest to miss in the game. When tackling the third puzzle to find the Hiddenfolk, you will eventually fight some Draugr. Once they are dead, activate the droplet next to the spot where you fought them, as well as the one just to the right of it so you can walk up the rocks opposite.
Normally, you would activate the third droplet by the pillar where you place the stones, so you can actually grab the third stone. But, before you do that, make your way through the path you just opened, under the rock, and look up on your left at the end of the raised rock. Here, you can find the lore stone upside down. Easy to miss! Once you have it, you can activate that third droplet and grab the stone.
Lorestangir 12 location – Chapter 4, Outer Cave System
Early on, when exploring the caves, you will drop down from two ledges. Directly on your right, when the area opens up, you can find an area tucked behind some rocks with the stone. Continue on to the next section of the cave until you drop down once again. Head right to find a ledge to climb up and the lore stone to activate.
Lorestangir 13 location – Chapter 4, Inner Cave System
Quite a bit further on, you will solve two puzzles using the flames. This is after you have dropped into the water for the first time. When solving the puzzle above that water, continue onwards until you reach a small crawl space you have to go through. On your right, you will mostly see an empty cavern, except when a small path appears that you can jump down to with the Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 14 location – Chapter 4, Hiddenfolk’s Cavern
Much later on, after you have solved the puzzle to get into the Hiddenfolk’s cavern, killed the creatures, and crossed the cavern with Senua, you will see some large floating rocks on your left. After this, you will need to crouch through a space just ahead. Instead of going through, look to your right to find a small path tucked in a cliffside. Around here is the lore stone.
Lorestangir 15 location – Chapter 5, Waterfall Side Path
After the Hiddenfolk grants Senua a vision of peace, you will walk across a small stream of water and then up a small hill. At the top, turn to your right, and then take another right at the waterfall. Follow the flow of water to find the Lorestangir.
Lorestangir 16 location – Chapter 5, Cliffside
When with Astridor, you will climb over a small rock lying horizontally. You will then enter a large, open field on the cliff. Just ahead, you will see the Lorestangir in the distance. To reach it, look to your right to find a path that you can follow around to reach it.
Lorestangir 17 location – Chapter 5, Shoreline Rune Puzzle
When solving the rune puzzle on the shoreline, you will need to cross to the second area with the boat in the middle of the beach. Make sure it is night by activating the droplet and then head through the gap in the cliff behind the boat. At the end of this path, you can find the stone.
Lorestangir 18 location – Chapter 5, Village Outskirts
The final Lorestangir is located in the village after you see the vision from the Hiddenfolk. On your way towards Astridor, you will see a stick on your right with some chimes hanging from it. Just after that stick you can head left or right to proceed. Take the left path and up by the house here you can find the final Lorestangir.
