Adele has announced a new residency in Munich.

The singer has not toured her fourth album ’30’ worldwide, instead embarking upon an ongoing and recently extended ‘Weekends With Adele’ residency in Las Vegas.

The Vegas residency is due to end in June, and Adele will return to Europe in August for four shows at the bespoke Munich Messe arena.

The 80,000 capacity open-air venue was created specifically for these shows, and you can see renderings of it below.

Speaking on Instagram, Adele said: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on?

“Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven’t played in Europe since 2016!

“I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes x.”

Ticket registration for the gigs is open now here and closes on Monday, February 5 at 6pm CET.  The pre-sale will then begin on Wednesday, February 7 at 10am CET, with fans receiving links the previous day.

Tickets will then go on general sale from 10am CET on Friday, February 9. You’ll be able to buy your tickets here.

This week, Adele has said she will embark on a world tour on her next album cycle. In the middle of a Vegas show, Adele revealed that fans will probably have a while to wait before she releases the follow-up to 2021’s ’30’, but she will tour it more than she has done with albums in the past.

““I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time,” she told her audience. “But next time I do, I’ll come to wherever it is you live.”

A few months ago, Adele mentioned that the Vegas residency has helped her “fall back in love with performing live again”.

“I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!” Adele wrote on X when it was announced her residency was being extended.

Mogwai, Meshuggah, Explosions In The Sky to headline stacked ArcTanGent 2024

The festival will return to Bristol for its 10th anniversary edition this August

NME

Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky have joined the previously announced Meshuggah as the headliners of ArcTanGent festival in 2024.

The post-rock and experimental festival will return to Fernhill Farm in Somerset for its 10th anniversary between August 14-17.

Also on the line-up will be Show Me The Body, Bo Ningen, a newly-reunited Brontide and a farewell show from Three Trapped Tigers.

Discussing the new additions to the line-up, festival organiser and booker James Scarlett said: “As we’re celebrating 10 years of ArcTanGent we made a list of the bands that have never played that we’ve always wanted to make it more special than ever, and naturally Mogwai were top of that list.

“We’re over the moon to also be bringing the likes of Electric Wizard and Clown Core to their first ever ATG. We weren’t lying when we said our 10th year is going to be the biggest ATG ever – it’s going to be biblical!”

Tickets are on sale for ArcTanGent 2024 now – you can purchase yours here.

NME previously hailed ArcTanGent as an “essential” festival, writing: “Based in a remote farm somewhere near Bristol, and comprising of a line-up of math-rock, post-rock, noise, esoteric metal and other such ‘fringe’ genres, it’s a weekend escape like no other on offer.”

Previous years have welcomed the likes of Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, and Russian Circles, with 2022 headlined by Deafheaven, who performed their classic album ‘Sunbather’ in full.

In October, NME spoke with Pete Doherty and Carl Bârat about recording the new album, their sessions in Jamaica, and the inspiration behind its songs.

On the overall themes of ‘All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade’, Doherty commented: “All we want to do is write beautiful songs. That’s what we’ve always wanted to do, but we got distracted – mostly by ourselves.

“On this occasion, we followed the pattern of writing songs that we believe in but there was nothing else to say; no fanfare, no cacophony. This is the album we’re proud of.”

Earlier this month, the band shared a dramatic new single called ‘Shiver’, of which Doherty said: “I would probably find it difficult to work out who did what because we were both there the whole time through its creation.

“It should really be called ‘The Last Dream Of Every Dying Soldier’, but everyone liked the title ‘Shiver’.”

Alleged Taylor Swift stalker arrested for third time in five days

A 33-year-old man was arrested again outside the singer’s New York residence, just a few hours after he appeared in front of a judge following his first arrest

NME

An alleged stalker of Taylor Swift has been arrested for a third time in five days outside her New York home.

33-year-old David Crowe was first arrested outside the singer’s townhouse in the Tribeca district on January 20 after he allegedly tried to enter the residence.

On Monday (January 22), he was arrested again and charged with harassment and stalking after trying to enter the house once again.

Yesterday (January 24), Crowe was arrested a third time, just after he faced a judge regarding his previous arrest for the first break-in attempt.

NBC New York were told by police that Crowe was released from court around midday on Wednesday, and arrested again just after 1.30pm.

The complaint said that he has been asked not to approach the building 10 times, and has been spotted there 30 times in the last two months.

Assistant District Attorney Harriet Jiranek said: “[His] continued conduct in showing up to this location despite numerous directives to leave shows a clear risk that the defendant will not abide by court orders to return to court.”

Swift has previously faced numerous issues with alleged stalkers at her New York residence, as well as homes she owns in California and Rhode Island.

Last summer, a man from Indiana was arrested and charged with stalking and harassing Swift after he made numerous attempts to contact the star at home and through social media.

Back in 2022, a man faced trespassing and stalking charges after allegedly entering two New York homes linked to Swift.

A stalker also broke into Swift’s NYC townhouse in 2018, and was found taking a nap in the property. He was subsequently sentenced to six months in jail.

RAYE responds to record-breaking BRIT Award nominations

Her seven nominations for 2024 is the highest number of nods given to a single artist in the show’s history

The post RAYE responds to record-breaking BRIT Award nominations appeared first on NME.

NME

RAYE has responded to breaking a new BRIT Awards record in 2024, saying it is beyond her “wildest dreams”.

The singer is nominated for seven awards at this year’s ceremony, the most by a single artist in the show’s history.

The previous record – six nominations – was jointly held by Robbie Williams, Gorillaz and Craig David.

Speaking to BBC News about the honour, RAYE said: “I’m a BRIT kid, innit? I went to the BRIT School and it was the goal, the ultimate goal, to find my way somehow to the BRIT Awards.”

She added: “As far as the industry was concerned, I was down and out. Never in my wildest dreams would I think trying again would mean seven BRIT nominations. This is a whole different thing. Best Album? Are you sick?”

RAYE is in contention for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year and two separate Song Of The Year nods.

Speaking about the nominations in a press release, she added: “I am completely floored to be recognised seven times this year. I was a BRIT school student and I remember how deeply I dreamed of one day being recognised at the BRITs. I am currently a mess of overwhelming emotions and confusion as to how this even happened to be honest.”

See the full list of BRIT Awards nominations for 2024 here.

RAYE released her long-awaited debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues‘ last year, and recently opened up about her experience of abuse of power in the music industry, calling the effects “crippling” in an interview with Louis Theroux.

“When you’re up and coming, when you have a dream and you cross paths with powerful people – some people abuse their power and the effects of that can be crippling,” she said.

RAYE also responded to being snubbed in the 2024 Grammy nominations insisting that she is “not upset at all” about not receiving any nods.
