K-pop girl group BBGirls (previously known as Brave Girls) have parted ways with Warner Music Korea and member Youjoung has left the group.

Warner Music Korea announced today (April 22) that BBGirls are no longer part of the label following the expiration of their contracts with the company. The label said that this decision was made “after long and sufficient discussions about future activities” with the members.

“Both Warner Music Korea and BBGirls have mutually agreed to respect each other’s opinions and end the exclusive contract upon its expiration after one year,” the company said. “We would like to express our deepest gratitude to BBGirls members Minyoung, Youjoung, Eunji and Yuna for their efforts and dedication for being with us.”

Shortly after the news broke, BBGirls announced the launch of their own label called BBGirls Company to manage their group activities, per MK Sports At the same time, they also announced that member Youjoung has chosen to leave the group.

“After in-depth discussions, Youjoung has decided to end her activities as a member of BBGirls,” the statement read. “Her members have decided to respect her opinion. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Youjoung, who has done her best as a member of BBGirls for a long time, and we will continue to support her in the future.”

Youjeong originally joined BBGirls, then Brave Girls, in 2016. The girl group renamed themselves in early-2023 after they left long-time agency Brave Entertainment. BBGirls’ last release was in August 2023 with the single album ‘One More Time’.
