Cardi B and Normani have teamed up for the release of new collaborative single, ‘Wild Side’, marking the latter’s first song in over a year.
Alongside the release of the single, which is out today (Friday July 16) and samples Aaliyah‘s 1996 track ‘One In A Million’, the two linked up for a new music video directed by Tanu Muino – who previously directed the video for Cardi B’s ‘Up’.
The video features Normani performing complicated dance routines in a variety of settings, choreographed by longtime collaborator Sean Bankhead. Bankhead was also responsible for the choreography in Normani’s previous single, 2019’s ‘Motivation’.
Elsewhere in the clip, Normani and Cardi are seen embracing one another, appearing to be naked. Watch the video below.
‘Wild Side’ comes ahead of the release of Normani’s long-awaited debut album, which she is still currently working on.
Upon announcing the single, Normani shared the track’s artwork, which sees her and Cardi sitting on a pearly platform in a dreamy landscape, covered only by strands of hair.

Normani and Cardi previously hyped up the music video, with Cardi responding to a tweet revealing that she is trending after the single’s announcement, saying: “The world is ready for Normani supremacy !!!!”
Normani then replied: “okay sooooo I just watched the video again. sis what the actual fuck.”

Back in February, Normani had teased ‘Wild Side’ in a video posted on social media, captioned with a lyric from the song: “Know it’s been awhile”
It’s been over a year since Normani last released new music, which came in the form of January 2020’s ‘Diamonds’, a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion released to coincide with the DC film Birds Of Prey.
Cardi, meanwhile, announced her pregnancy with her second child on stage at the BET Awards last month.
During Migos‘ BET performance, Cardi joins the trio, of which her partner Offset is one-third of, in an outfit exposing her baby bump. She then confirmed the pregnancy on Instagram.
