Ozzy Osbourne has shared details of a tattoo event that will be held across the world to celebrate his new album.

The event will give attendees the chance to listen to ‘Ordinary Man’ in advance of its release on February 21 while queuing up to get exclusive Ozzy-inspired tattoos inked onto their bodies.

Parlours in more than fifty cities will play host to Ozzy’s twist on the traditional listening party held on February 20. The event runs on a first come, first served basis but fans can boost their chances of securing an exclusive tattoo by RSVPing here. Prices and designs will vary from parlour to parlour and an RSVP does not guarantee a place.

Times will also vary with each city, with more details to be revealed on February 13.

A handful of participating parlours already have their times locked in. Fans can meet the Prince of Darkness himself at Los Angeles’ Amoeba Records on February 21 at 5pm PST. Attendees will need to buy a physical copy of the album at the store on release day.

As Spin notes, the signing space is limited and so fans will need to line up on Sunset Boulevard before the shop opens at 10.30am PST that day. Fans will be limited to two copies per person for signing, and no additional items will signed.

In other news, Ozzy will hit the road in October for a string of rescheduled UK arena shows.

He recently revealed that he has a form of Parkinson’s disease, adding that he doesn’t think he’ll be around for “too much longer”.

Smashing Pumpkins have been announced as the main support for Guns N’ Roses on a select number of dates this year.

Billy Corgan and co. will open for the veteran rock band’s dates in Philadelphia, Detroit, Toronto, Washington D.C., East Rutherford, and Boston across July.

The news follows Guns N’ Roses adding more dates across the pond including at Glasgow Green during the European leg of their 2020 world tour.

Guns N’ Roses’ current line-up sees Axl Rose play with Slash and Duff McKagan after the three musicians reunited once more back in 2016. Slash recently sewed doubt about the band releasing what would be their first album in more than a decade, adding that changes in the music industry have contributed to clouding the band’s ambitions.

Meanwhile, Corgan – who remains the sole permanent member of the Pumpkins – recently announced that his band will release a double album this year.

He said the Pumpkins have 21 songs ready to go for a “pretty different” album, which they’ve been working on in Nashville.

Last year, Smashing Pumpkins toured alongside Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

A composer has revealed that Billie Eilish‘s mother voiced characters in popular video games series including Mass Effect and Saints Row.

Maclaine Diemer, who composed music for the PC game Guild Wars 2, tweeted the revelation that Maggie Baird, an established voice and television actress, featured in the popular Mass Effect and Saints Row series. Baird is also Eilish’s mother.

Writing later that his tweet “blew up overnight”, Diemer moved on to send confirmatory links about Baird to various excitable Twitter users who’d engaged with his comments.

One user wrote, “I think I love Billie even more now”, while another praised Eilish “for not riding that fact” about her mother “to the bank”.

Baird is also a musician and a screenwriter and counts Curb Your Enthusiasm, The X-Files, Friends and Six Feet Under among her acting credits. She also wrote, co-produced, and created the soundtrack for the 2013 film Life Inside Out.

The voice actress portrayed Samara in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 as a team-mate whom players can choose to start a romantic relationship with. She also voiced various characters in Saints Row and Saints Row 2, including Stilwater’s Resident.

Her voice actor roles in other video games include Battlezone II: Combat Commander, and EverQuest II, as well as playing Anezka in Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, and Amni Rhyza in Rogue Squadron.

In other news, Eilish has been criticised after saying in a recent interview that rappers are “lying” in their music.

The singer is the current cover star for Vogue and she made the comments about hip-hop artists to the publication.

“Just because the story isn’t real doesn’t mean it can’t be important,” Eilish said, justifying her use of alter egos in her songs. “There’s a difference between lying in a song and writing a story. There are tons of songs where people are just lying. There’s a lot of that in rap right now, from people that I know who rap.”

Best Coast have shared ‘Different Light’, the latest cut from their forthcoming album ‘Always Tomorrow’.

The duo – vocalist Bethany Cosentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno – release their new album on February 21 via Concord Records. It follows 2015’s ‘California Nights’.

The band made their comeback last November with provisional details of ‘Always Tomorrow’ and new single ‘For The First Time’.

The new song follows the release of ‘Everything Has Changed’, the duo’s previous single that was accompanied by a quiz show-themed video that features the stars of US TV show Vanderpump Rules.

According to a press release, ‘Always Tomorrow’ is an album full of “intense personal discovery amidst a whirlwind backdrop of global tours, heartbreak, newfound sobriety, dark thoughts, immense joy, giving a fuck, not giving too many fucks, substances, boredom, public personas, and gratitude.”

Cosentino said of the album: “‘Always Tomorrow’ is the story of where I was and where I am now, as well as the struggles I am still learning to identify and figure out. Some days I wake up and I feel like I’m on top of the world and I forget about everything that’s ever bummed me out, and other days, it all comes flooding back.

“This album is about leaving the darkness for the light, but still understanding that nothing is ever going to be perfect. It’s about burning it all down and starting from scratch even when the idea of that is fucking terrifying. Closing one chapter and moving onto the next even when you have no idea what is on the other side. Acceptance. It’s about taking a gigantic leap of faith.”

In a four-star review of Best Coast’s last album, ‘Californian Nights’, NME said: “Five years on from ‘Crazy For You’, their weed-and reverb-drenched surf-punk opus, Best Coast have come of age. The dreamy, sun-streaked yearning remains, but the humour that laced Bethany Cosentino’s bratty ennui has gone.

“‘California Nights’ is, instead, full of more sobering concerns – medication, heartbreak, insomnia… Cosentino’s honeyed vocal is the only true constant. It’s a radiating sunbeam, particularly so on the giddy, shimmering ‘Heaven Sent’.”

The 1975 have shared the video for their new single, ‘Me & You Together Song’.

The single, which was shared last month, will feature on the group’s upcoming album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’.

Directed by Bedroom, the nostalgic video plays out like a ’90s throwback, featuring mix CDs, boomboxes, retro T-shirts and more.

The video was confirmed yesterday (February 5) by the band’s label Dirty Hit after the company posted a photo on its Instagram page that showed frontman Matty Healy sat on a bed cupping a lighter in his hand, flame flickering between his palms.

‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ was due to be released on February 21 but has since been pushed back to April 24.

Earlier this week, Healy performed an intimate acoustic set in Sydney to raise money for those affected by the recent bushfires in Australia. The stripped-back performance saw Healy perform solo on stage with an acoustic guitar whilst sat on a sofa.

The show followed the frontman performing on stage in a hospital gown at the Sydney leg of Laneway Festival. The outfit choice referenced the fact The 1975 had been forced to pull out of the festival’s Brisbane date after Healy was hospitalised by a “bout of serious sickness”.

Meanwhile, The 1975 are set to bring the NME Awards 2020 to a close next week with a special five-song set. They will join other performers at the ceremony at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 12, including Yungblud, Beabadoobee, and Slowthai and Mura Masa. Tickets for the event are available here.

Grey Daze, the band Chester Bennington was in before joining Linkin Park, have announced a new album and released a new track called ‘Sickness’, which features the late singer’s vocals.

The Phoenix-based band have also shared details about ‘Amends’, their eagerly awaited third album featuring newly recorded music with re-mastered vocals from the group’s long out-of-print and largely undiscovered back catalogue.

Premiered this evening (February 6) by Annie Mac as her ‘Hottest Record’, ‘Sickness’ follows last month’s release of the album’s first single, ‘What’s in the Eye’. The song is also accompanied by a video.

Speaking of the song’s video concept, Grey Daze founder and drummer Sean Dowdell said: “This is loosely based on a true story from when Chester was 15-years-old. He was being bullied at school and one day suffered a real beating. That was the day I assumed a role as protector and almost older brother figure to Chester that has lasted since, even after his passing.”

Bennington’s widow Talinda revealed last December that the ’90s group had been planning to reform with the late singer and were in the middle of re-recording music for an LP when he died in 2017.

According to a press release, “‘Amends’ is the origin story of one of modern rock’s most recognisable voices and also a full circle moment among friends.”

Due for release on April 10, 2020, the album will be available in a variety of collectable formats with several iterations available exclusively via the band’s website. You can pre-order the album here.

Last month, Grey Day released a mini-documentary about their early days, and their upcoming new album featuring his vocals.

The eight-minute video looks back at when Bennington joined the band at 15 years of age. It also focuses on a Grey Daze reunion they had been planning before the frontman took his own life in 2017.

Lil Nas X and Nas have released the official video for their ‘Rodeo’ remix following their performance at this year’s Grammys.

In the video, Lil Nas X takes on the form of a vampire after he is bitten while exiting a phone booth. As the night continues, he gets stronger in realising his new powers.

With nods to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and Marvel’s Blade, the video also takes inspiration from The Matrix trilogy as Lil Nas dodged bullets fired at him by men in black suits and blacked out sunglasses – and that’s not the only Matrix reference.

As “Big Nas” enters the picture, he takes on a Morpheus-type role offering the ‘Old Town Road’ rapper a choice of pills: a red one or a blue one.

‘Rodeo’, which initially featured Cardi B, originally came out as part of Lil Nas X’s debut EP ‘7’ back in June. That release followed on from the huge commercial success of the rapper-singer’s break-out hit ‘Old Town Road (Remix)’.

Meanwhile, Lil Nas X has brushed off a situation in which a rapper criticised his fashion choices and went on to rail against the gay “agenda”.

Atlanta rapper Pastor Troy (real name Micah LeVar Troy) shared a photo of the ‘Old Town Road’ rapper in his pink cowboy get-up at last week’s Grammy Awards and captioned it with a lengthy homophobic rant.
