Lloyd Banks has dropped off the second track from his upcoming new album, ‘The Course Of The Inevitable 2’ – listen to ‘Fell In Love’ below.

The follow-up to last year’s ‘COTI (The Course Of The Inevitable)’ was previewed earlier this month with the release of its first single, ‘Menace’ featuring Conway The Machine.

Due to be released on July 15, the album’s latest single hears Banks break down the characteristics that make him so irresistible to the ladies.

Cool in the summer, heat hot when the winter’s on/ I came, I saw, I killed them already/ My game is raw, my Lord, they all petty/ I paved the way, let niggas in the doors heavy/ You talk a lot, you bashed in with small fetti,” he raps on the song’s second verse.

11. ‘Dead Roses’

News of a new album comes after Banks tweeted back in February: “I can’t wait for y’all to hear this sh!t SMH,” letting fans know just how excited he is about the forthcoming release.

Prior to the release of last year’s ‘COTI’, Banks hadn’t released a full-length project since his 2016 mixtape ‘Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days Of Fury’. His last official album before that was 2010’s ‘The Hunger For More 2′.

Meanwhile, D12 rapper Bizarre has recalled the time Suge Knight stopped by 50 Cent‘s ‘In Da Club’ video shoot in an attempt to intimidate the G-Unit head honcho.

John Dolmayan says it’s “an insult” System Of A Down doesn’t make new music

The metal titans have only released two singles in the last 17 years

The post John Dolmayan says it’s “an insult” System Of A Down doesn’t make new music appeared first on NME.

NME

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has spoken out about the band’s lack of new music, having only released two singles in 17 years.

The metal band’s last album was 2005’s ‘Hypnotize’, and since then all they’ve released are two singles in 2020, ‘Protect The Land’ and ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’.

Speaking in a new interview, Dolmayan said he was happy that SOAD were able to put out the new tracks, but that he wishes they would continue to make more music.

“Cause, obviously, we still have something to give to the world. And when you put something out that actually makes an impact, you’re, like, ‘Why aren’t we doing this all the time?’ And then I go down the rabbit hole of frustration and anger,” the drummer told YouTube interviewer Sona Oganesyan.

“I’m a sensitive person, so I can’t just hold this stuff in – it has to come out one way or the other,” he continued. “And it takes me a long time to deal with it and to cope with it, because I also am realistic in that life is finite; you only have a certain amount of time. And here we are.

“We have this gift that came from God or wherever, and we’re squandering it. It’s an insult to everybody else that tries to make it in whatever endeavor they’re trying to make. And here we are – we’ve made it, we have the talent, we have the ability, we have an adoring fanbase, we’ve sold, I don’t know, whatever it is – 30million albums or more – and they’re hungry for it, and we just don’t do it.

“That’s like the worst – having the ability to do something and not doing it is, I think, the worst thing in the world as far as in the perspective of being an artist. You’re just hurting yourself.”

Dolmayan said that he believes System Of A Down would be capable of creating more music together if they were willing to “put everything to the side”. He claims he’s willing to do so, but he doesn’t think his bandmates are.

Meanwhile, System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian recently shared a new solo song that serves as a resistance piece to the “slick theft” he claims he’s seen in Armenia’s political elections.

The song’s title ‘Amber’ is pronounced “ahm-be’r” and translates to “clouds” in Armenian. The track, which is sung entirely in the Armenian language, was written in 2017 but was completed this year.

Rapper changes lyrics to ‘WAP’ to encourage his kids to do their chores

Watch as the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit gets a spring-cleaning makeover

The post Rapper changes lyrics to ‘WAP’ to encourage his kids to do their chores appeared first on NME.

NME

A rapper has found a creative way of encouraging his children to do their chores – by changing the lyrics to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘WAP’.

The raunchy viral hit originally landed in August 2020, sparking great controversy and racking up 19 Platinum certificates across five countries. It was also named NME‘s song of the year.

The track opens with the lyrics: “Whores in this house/ There’s some whores in this house/ There’s some whores in this house/ There’s some whores in this house (Hol’ up)/ I said certified freak, seven days a week/ Wet-ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo.”

In a recent video shared to social media, New York rapper Kilah Blaze has filmed his children as they change a bed while he raps a new set of lyrics to the explicit track.

Chores in this house/ There’s some chores in this house,” Blaze begins his version, before flipping Cardi’s opening bars: “Certified dad, seven days a week/ If you don’t clean this house up, you gon’ be six-feet deep.

Watch the clip below:

On Friday (July 8), during her set at the Finsbury Park edition of this year’s Wireless Festival, Cardi B invited Megan Thee Stallion to join her for a performance of ‘WAP’.

“Here’s my motherfuckin’ bitch, I love her,” Cardi said of Megan after the performance. The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper responded by twerking at Cardi, to which the latter quipped: “I can’t get freaky with her, ‘cause you know, that’s my brother’s girlfriend.”

It marks the first time that Cardi and Megan have performed the track together in the UK.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion has reacted to a clip of Adele performing part of the viral dance to the ‘Body Under The Bridge’ mashup.

Donald Trump calls Elon Musk a “bullshit artist” at Alaska rally

It comes after the tech mogul pulled out of a multi-billion dollar deal to take over Twitter

The post Donald Trump calls Elon Musk a “bullshit artist” at Alaska rally appeared first on NME.

NME

Donald Trump has called out Elon Musk at a recent rally, calling the tech mogul a “bullshit artist”.

On Saturday (July 9), Trump spoke at a rally in Anchorage, Alaska, during which he peddled his right-wing social network Truth Social.

The former US president called the budding platform “hot as a pistol” and compared it to Musk’s recent bid to buy Twitter for $44billion – a deal the Tesla CEO is now attempting to pull out of.

“I tell you what – Elon… Elon is not gonna buy Twitter!” Trump told the audience after mistakenly calling the Space X founder and ex-partner of Grimes “Leon”. “Where did you hear that before? From me. From me.”

Trump continued: “Nah, he’s got himself a mess. You know, he said the other day, ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know that, he told me he voted for me.’ So he’s another bullshit artist, but he’s not gonna be buying it. He’s not gonna be buying it. Although he might later, who the hell knows what’s gonna happen. He’s got a pretty rotten contract. I looked at his contract, not a good contract. But he’s not…Sign up for Truth.”

You can see Trump call out Musk below:

Earlier this year, when it was first reported that Musk had successfully acquired Twitter for approximately $44billion (£34.5b), the Tesla CEO said that Trump would be allowed back on the social media platform.

Speaking at a Financial Times conference, Musk described Twitter’s decision to permanently ban Trump as “morally bad” and “foolish in the extreme”.

“I would reverse the permanent ban,” Musk said. He continued: “I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake. It alienated a large part of the country, and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”

Musk said that by banning Trump, the social media platform risked creating a “frankly worse” forum.

Trump was kicked off Twitter, Facebook and YouTube following the failed insurrection attempt in the US in January 2021.

Twitter permanently banned Trump following the incident, citing repeated violations of its rules and that his tweets were “highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the US Capitol on 6 January 2021”, referring to the attack on the Capitol building by his supporters.

Meanwhile, Musk‘s daughter has applied to legally change her name, in part as a means to sever ties with her father.

The clip is the latest in their long-running ‘Sunday Lunch’ series which was launched in 2020 due to Fripp missing playing out live as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.

In recent weeks, they’ve covered Red Hot Chili Peppers‘Can’t Stop’The Cranberries’ ‘Zombie’, Radiohead’s ‘Creep’Garbage’s ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’, Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing In The Name Of’ and Foo Fighters’ ‘All My Life’. Last week the pair took on Rammstein’s ‘Keine Lust’.

For their reworking of ‘Rebel Yell’, the title track from Idol’s 1983 album of the same name, the pair take up residence in their kitchen once more. Willcox dons a see through nylon top for the performance, along with black heart nipple covers and a gold belly dancing skirt, while Fripp wears his trademark shirt and waistcoat ensemble.

This week’s cover is in celebration of the announcement that Willcox will be joining the UK leg of Idol’s ‘Roadside Tour’ as a special guest in October 2022. See the full list of dates below and get tickets here.

Last August, Willcox released her 16th studio album ‘Posh Pop’, which she previewed with the single ‘Levitate’ featuring Simon Darlow and Bobby Willcox.

Discussing the album in an interview with NME, Willcox explained how it came about. “When COVID stopped everything last year, it allowed me to concentrate on writing and recording the next album,” she said. “We recorded in Simon’s outdoor studio with just him, my husband and I.

“‘Posh Pop’ was a magical experience created out of the need and ability to make contact with our fans in a heartfelt way. Also the terrifying distance between those who run the world and those on the ground inspired my writing.

She added: “Working with Fripp in the studio, we just handed him the chord charts the day before and said: ‘We want you to come in and improvise and that’s what we’ll use’. It was spontaneous.”

Ciara wants “to make the world dance” with new single ‘Jump’

It’s the singer’s first new song in two years

Ciara has released a brand new single called ‘Jump’ which she hopes will inspire the world to dance – listen to it below.

The singer’s first new song in two years is an up-tempo club banger featuring viral rap group Coast Contra, designed to get people on the dance floor.

If you want it, I got all the flavours you need/ Get up on it, come apply that pressure on me/ You’ve been waiting, saying what you gon’ do, we gon’ see/ That’s right, we gon’ see what it do, ah, ah,” Ciara sings in the opening verse.

She continues: “Tell me something, you came all this way, slow down/ Boy, stop frontin’, right now ain’t the time to back down/ Just enjoy it, I got all this candy, so sweat/ This candy so sweat, baby, uh.

Speaking about the new track on Twitter, Ciara wrote: “I’m back on my mission to make the world dance.” Check out the music video for ‘Jump’ below.

‘Jump’ follows Ciara’s 2019 album ‘Beauty Marks’, as well as the track ‘Melanin’, which features Lupita Nyong’o, La La Anthony and City Girls.

Speaking about the track at the time, Ciara said: “This is ultimately an anthem of self-love, which is a journey I’ve been on since my ‘Beauty Marks’ album. It celebrates the beautiful shades of culture that comprise the inner and outer beauty of everyone. Embracing the unique nature of our skin tones threads together the tapestry of humankind.”

In 2020, the Atlanta native released the Hudson Mohawke and Stargate–produced single ‘Rooted’ featuring Ester Dean.

Meanwhile, Ciara recently revealed that her career-defining hit ‘Goodies’ was almost given to Britney Spears before she topped the charts with it.

Listen to King Princess’ harrowing new single ‘Change The Locks’

The song was co-written with The National’s Aaron Dessner

The post Listen to King Princess’ harrowing new single ‘Change The Locks’ appeared first on NME.

NME

King Princess has shared a brand new single titled ‘Change The Locks’ – listen to the heart-rending track below.

The genre-blurring pop star’s latest single is the fourth preview of their forthcoming second album, ‘Hold On Baby’, which is due to be released on July 29 via Zelig. It follows the singles ‘Little Bother’, ‘For My Friends’ and ‘Too Bad/Cursed’.

So I guess it’s over/ ‘Cause I’m hardly sober anymore/ So I guess it’s over/ I can hardly hold you anymore,” King Princess (real name Mikaela Straus) sings on the song’s chorus. “So I guess you’re feeling like I steal your space/ And you can’t be peaceful when I’m in your face, so/ So I guess it’s over/ ‘Cause I hardly know you anymore.

‘Change The Locks’ was co-written with The National’s Aaron Dessner at his home studio in upstate New York.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, King Princess said someone in the studio told them that the song sounded like “menstruating at Lilith Fair”. “I was like, ‘Cunt! That’s exactly what I’m going for,” she said. “It’s a journey.”

You can listen to ‘Change The Locks’ below:

‘Hold On Baby’ is the follow-up to King Princess’ 2019 debut album, ‘Cheap Queen’. In addition to Dessner, it will feature collaborations with Mark Ronson, Ethan Gruska, Bryce Dessner, Tobias Jesso Jr. and more.

“‘Hold On Baby’ is a search for a new heartbreak,” King Princess said in a statement back in June. “It’s a love letter to my girlfriend. It’s a firm read of myself. And it’s a reminder of the totems in my life that give me hope; my dog who is my fiercest companion and the owl that represents my grandparents.

“I want this album to give you all some strength in accepting ourselves; as chaotic as we can be. It’s not easy being alive and I feel indebted to you all for providing me air to breathe in this insane world.”

They added: “That’s what King Princess has always been about at its core. Making a home for us to feel safe and weird and messy and imperfect. You are not alone in your feelings. I bet you I feel and have felt the same. This album is for anyone who needs a sanctuary to be vulnerable. I’m here with you, and I love you.”

Next year, King Princess will support Florence + The Machine on a five-date Australian and New Zealand tour.

The dates will follow an expansive tour throughout North America for Florence Welch and co., with King Princess also supporting on select dates alongside Arlo ParksSam FenderYves TumorJapanese Breakfast and Wet Leg on select dates.
