Original AC/DC singer Dave Evans has just released a new compilation album called "BADASS Greatest Hits". The effort, which can be ordered at this location, contains "20 massive hits on one album," including Dave's version of "Rockin' In The Parlour", the song that originally appeared as the B-side of AC/DC's debut single, 1974's "Can I Sit Next to You, Girl". "BADASS Greatest Hits" track listing: 01. Hot Nights (Evans/Franceschini/Green) 02. Somebody Better (Evans/Franceschini) 03. Get Ready (Evans/Green) 04. Baby Blue Eyes (Evans/Green) 05. Sold My Soul For Rock 'N' Roll (Evans/Tinson/Croft) 06. Only The Good Die Young (Evans/Tinson/Croft) 07. Take Me Down Again (Tinson) 08. Back On The Firing Line (Tinson) 09. Rock 'N' Roll Or Bust (Tinson) 10. Another Boy On The Street (Evans/Tinson) 11. House Of The Rising Sun (Traditional) 12. Judgement Day (Evans/Tinson) 13. Shoot On Sight ( Evans/Tinson) 14. We Don't March To Your Drum (Evans/Tinson) 15. Put Up Or Shut Up (Evans/Appleton) 16. I Believe (Evans/Appleton) 17. Go Wild (Evans/Steigeoal) 18. Sunset Strip (Evans) 19. Rockin' In The Parlour (Young/Young) 20. Bad Ass Boy (Evans/Tipton) Dave recorded AC/DC's first two singles, "Can I Sit Next To You Girl" and "Baby Please Don't Go". But in October 1974, less than a year after AC/DC's first gig, Evans was out of the group. Evans was replaced by Bon Scott, who sang on AC/DC's first six studio albums and became a legend himself after his death in 1980. In December 2019, Evans took to his Facebook page to shoot down rumors that he was hoping to come back to AC/DC, explaining that "the real essence of the band" died when founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young passed away in November 2017. Earlier this year, Dave Evans was asked in an interview with The Rocker Diaries if he thought "that would be it" for AC/DC after Bon's death in 1980. He responded: "No, not at all. I mean, we all keep going. And AC/DC has had that many players through [the history of] the band. I don't know how many. 20? And three singers, plus a stand-in singer as well. "We were always ambitious when we first started," he continued. "We always wanted to be the best in the world — all of us. And after me, Bon Scott got his chance. He did great with the band. And when he died, I just thought, 'Who are they gonna get?' I never thought [I would be approached about it] myself, because that's water under the bridge. And I was busy with bands as well at the time, and doing my own music and recording. I was just wondering who it would be. I had heard of [Brian Johnson's pre-AC/DC band] GEORDIE — just the name GEORDIE. I'd never heard of Brian. And then Brian popped up and, of course, the 'Back In Black' album came out, which was a massive album around the world, and they were off and running with Brian. But if Brian quit, they'd get another singer, and another singer. [They've gone through] different bass players [and] different drummers. "The drive was always Malcolm Young," Dave added. "I remember Malcolm when I first met him. He was such a driving force. Just a tiny little guy — just a little touch over five foot tall — but, boy, he had a big heart and a big personality. And he was tough, too — Malcolm was very tough. And no matter what, he was AC/DC through and through. And, of course, once he passed away, which is very sad, AC/DC, of course, will never, ever be the same without Malcolm. How can it be?"

Wales announces the return of live music events

Foals and Feeder have forthcoming gigs lined up

The Welsh government has confirmed that live music events can return immediately in the country.

Concerts can begin again but venues will need risk assessments in line with hospitality and performing guidance, reports BBC News.

Plus there will be a limit on groups to a maximum of six people from six households, one-way systems must be used and ventilation guidelines followed.

The change brings live events in line with restaurants and theatres, which were able to open earlier in May. However, the change does not apply to nightclubs.

A Welsh government spokesman told the BBC the suspension of gigs and other live events had been one of “the biggest shocks to our sense of well-being and the arts economy” following the coronavirus pandemic.

He added: “We will continue to support our music and arts sectors in Wales through our cultural recovery, freelancer and economic resilience funds.”

Forthcoming events in Wales include an outdoor Feeder concert at Tredegar Park in Newport on July 9 and a Foals gig at Cardiff Castle on August 12.

The latest development comes after the Music Venue Trust (MVT) recently called on the Welsh government to set a date for the reopening of live music venues.

In an open letter MVT asked the government to provide clarity on the return of live entertainment in the country.

Last month (April 30) MVT expressed concerns that live music pilots were not reaching the grassroots venues that needed them most.

The forthcoming HBO Max series about DC character Green Lantern has cast Jeremy Irvine as gay superhero Alan Scott.

The show, which promises to tell stories in the DC universe “spanning decades and galaxies” across 10 one-hour episodes, recently found its titular lead actor in Finn Wittrock, star of American Horror Story.

Announcing his involvement in a new Instagram post, Irvine wrote: “Very excited to be joining the DC Universe!! Can’t wait to get started.”

He then added an iconic Green Lantern quote: “In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might, Beware my power – Green Lantern’s light!”

According to Deadline, Scott is a train engineer by trade. “Scott derived his powers from a mystical green lantern crafted from a mysterious meteorite. He later joined the Justice Society of America, and in universe-hopping adventures would sometimes team with members of the Green Lantern Corps, including Hal Jordan,” it added.

Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Seth Grahame-Smith will be writing Green Lantern, which is set to rework the DC characters and stories into a narrative “spanning decades and galaxies”.

The show will begin on Earth in 1941 with Scott, before heading to 1984 with Wittrock’s alpha male Guy Gardner and half-alien Bree Jarta.

Elsewhere, actor Wayne T Carr has discussed his role as the Green Lantern being cut from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The actor was initially due to star in Snyder’s reworking of the 2017 superhero film in the final scene before Warner Bros cut the scene and replaced it with a reveal of Martian Manhunter.

“When I saw the full vision, I went through the journey like everybody went through the journey,” Carr said. “Towards the end, I realised, ‘Ugh. I’m not a part of this. Darn.'”

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has released a "pop-up" version of the official music video for his single "Samantha's Gone". This time around, Corey invited his friends to join him on-screen, including Tom Sandoval of Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules", actor Dean Cameron ("Summer School", "Ski School", "Straight Outta Compton"), STEEL PANTHER, plus actor Greg Grunberg, Ace Von Johnson, Travis Miguel and Jonah Nimoy. About the visual, Taylor told Bravo's "The Daily Dish": "The video for 'Samantha's Gone' served two purposes: making fun of so-called 'indie rock' bands and getting all my friends together to hang out and have a good time. We all went back and forth between having fun and social distancing. Watching the first 'band' was great, then being fired from our OWN song in favor of STEEL PANTHER was the icing on the cake." Taylor recently made history as he reached No. 1 at Active Rock Radio with his powerful single "Black Eyes Blue". The achievement put Taylor in a class all his own, making him the first artist in the history of the format to reach No. 1 with three separate projects, following chart-topping efforts from SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR. "CMFT" made impressive debuts on charts around the world in October, entering at No. 1 on Billboard's Current Hard Rock Albums chart, while claiming No. 2 on Current Rock Albums, No. 6 on Vinyl Albums, and No. 9 on the Top Albums charts. Furthermore, "CMFT" landed Top 10 on the official album charts in Australia, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, with Top 20 debuts in the United Kingdom, Finland and Japan (international chart). Featured in Rolling Stone's "Fall Album Preview 2020," "CMFT" has been garnering widespread critical applause, with Forbes affirming, "Corey Taylor's singing is undeniably the best it's ever been. From SLIPKNOT's last album to his new solo material, Taylor is easily among the best sounding rock singers alive." Kerrang! raved, "Corey Taylor certainly couldn't have predicted how important a sense of uninhibited joy would be on his debut solo effort, it's just what 2020 needs — and, even more importantly, exactly what he delivers." The Daily Beast attested, "'CMFT' finds the singer broadening his horizons and showing off his considerable versatility," while Stereogum noted, "Corey Taylor's lived several lives in the span that it takes most of us to push through just one, and it's clear that he cherishes every experience he's had so far." New York magazine added that "CMFT" "bridges his vast tastes and influences, dabbling in punk rock, metal, reflective acoustic tunes, plaintive piano ballads, and hip-hop, with Taylor's power-house vocals and introspective lyrics acting as a guide." "CMFT" is highlighted by the singles "Culture Head", "HWY 666", "CMFT Must Be Stopped" (featuring Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie), and the Active Rock radio hit "Black Eyes Blue". Taylor also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Songwriters chart following the unprecedented debut of "Black Eyes Blue" and "CMFT Must Be Stopped", the latter of which has racked up more than four million YouTube views for its star-studded music video. Furthermore, Taylor debuted the pummeling "Culture Head" during WWE's NXT broadcast on the USA network, illuminating yet another facet of "CMFT" and showcasing the broad spectrum of this fiery and fearless rock 'n' roll opus, as Taylor touches on lifelong influences ranging from hard rock to classic rock, punk rock to hip-hop. 14-time world champion and EVP of global talent strategy and development at WWE, Triple H, also shared a WWE exclusive performance of Taylor and his band tearing through the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Ace Of Spades". "CMFT" has been a long time coming for Taylor, with newly written tracks alongside some dating back to his teens. Recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston and his band — Christian Martucci (guitar), Zach Throne (guitar), Jason Christopher (bass), and Dustin Schoenhofer (drums) — the album traces a wild and exhilarating roadmap through Taylor's musical psyche. Earlier in the month, Taylor kicked off the "CMFTour". The run features Taylor and his band performing for fans socially distanced and following state recommended health guidelines.
