Miley Cyrus has announced her eighth studio album, ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ – check out the trailer below.

The follow-up to 2020’s ‘Plastic Hearts’ is due to arrive on March 10 via Columbia – you can pre-order/pre-save it here.

Cyrus will release the first single from the record, ‘Flowers’, next Friday (January 13). Last week, the pop star celebrated NYE by revealing two snippets of the forthcoming song as part of her Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party TV special (see below).

The singer has described ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ as her “love letter to LA”, where the album was recorded. Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, Mike WiLL Made-It and Tyler Johnson all served as producers on the project.

Per a press release, the LP finds Cyrus at her “strongest and most confident”. Its music and accompanying imagery reflect “the strength she’s found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being”.

An official trailer for ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ features of suitably sunny shots of a swimming pool, bright blue skies, palm trees and a shades-donning Cyrus. The clip is soundtracked by a spoken word passage and shimmering synths.

Tune in here:

A full tracklist for the album has not yet been shared – see the official cover artwork above.

Cyrus began teasing her next musical era last month, when posters displaying the slogan “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY” were spotted around Los Angeles.

Later, the star updated her Spotify bio to contain the same phrase. The words subsequently appeared in her Twitter bio.

Mike WiLL Made-It – who was a producer on Cyrus’ fourth full-length, 2013’s ‘Bangerz’ – was pictured with the singer in the studio last November.

Cyrus released her first live album, ‘Attention: Miley Live’ in 2022. It featured two unreleased songs, ‘Attention’ and ‘You’, as well as 20 live versions of tracks from across her career.

‘Armored Core 6’ release date, trailer and latest news

Here’s everything we know about Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon

The post ‘Armored Core 6’ release date, trailer and latest news appeared first on NME.

NME

Armored Core 6 was recently revealed, after having been heavily rumoured for many years. This is great news for fans of the tough-as-nails mech series, especially given that there hasn’t been an Armored Core game since 2013. Since then, FromSoftware has become a world-renowned studio, and experts at combat-driven RPG games.

It’s clear that Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon is primed to be a slightly different experience to its predecessors, one that will hopefully incorporate everything the developer has learned over the last decade of game design. From what we’ve heard, the is still very much an Armored Core game, so those hoping for some Souls-like twists may be disappointed at launch.

Armored Core 6 just received a full release date, alongside a brand new trailer. This gives us our best look yet at the upcoming action-rpg, but there’s still plenty we don’t know yet. When new information is released, you’ll find it here. While we wait for more on Armored Core 6, here’s what we know so far.

Armored Core 6 release date

Armored Core 6 will launch on August 25, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This news was revealed in April 2023, alongside a brand new action-packed trailer. You can view it below.

Trailers

So far, only two trailers has been released for Armored Core 6. The first introduces some of the themes for the game, and gives us our first look at the new graphics style. Clearly the game is going to look great.

A trailer follows in April 2023, showing off more of the game. There’s gameplay this time around, which looks like it could really be pushing the series forwards. Check it out below:

What to expect

At present, few details have been shared about Armored Core 6. The game does have an official website already however, which does give some info on what to expect. First off is this description of gameplay:

“In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions.”

Not too much to go on there, but at least we do know that mech customisation will once again be a major focus. In terms of story, a new substance has been discovered on a planet called RUBICON-3. This substance was hoped to advance human technologies, but instead caused a catastrophe, engulfing the entire surrounding solar system in fire.

Half a century later, factions fight over the substance found on RUBICON-3. This is where Armored Core 6 picks up. The player will act as an independent mercenary, sent to the planet to help control the war that has broken out.

The game’s director, Masaru Yamamura, joined FromSoftware studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki to tease the details of Armored Core 6 in a new interview with IGN.

“The main focus in AC6 – on the story mode at least – is having that story develop and play out,” Yamamura said. “We’ve concentrated on single-player for the story mode.”

They went on to reveal that while single-player is indeed the main focus, PvP will be available in versus modes.

‘The Simpsons’ writer debunks “unfortunate” 9/11 prediction theory

The show’s writers have been accused of clairvoyance at times

The post ‘The Simpsons’ writer debunks “unfortunate” 9/11 prediction theory appeared first on NME.

NME

The Simpsons has supposedly predicted many things, but one piece of cartoon clairvoyance can be crossed off the list: 9/11.

From forecasting that a Trump Presidency would happen to thumbing its nose at the future Disney/Fox merger, the American sitcom has seemingly had a real crystal ball on hand in the writers’ room. However, one prediction that has been attributed to the creative team concerning the September 11 terror attacks in 2001 has been debunked.

Former show-runner and writer Josh Wenstein opened up a Q&A on Twitter this Monday (January 2), sparking a rush of eager fan replies. One user asked if there was any truth to the conspiracy theories regarding the show predicting 9/11. Weinstein said it was an “unfortunate” case of “coincidence”.

The question highlights a moment from the first episode of 1997’s season 9, The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson. In the episode Bart holds a picture in a magazine aloft which features an image representing 9/11 (see Tweets above or below).

Responding to the question posed, Weinstein wrote: “I can tell you the unfortunate 9/11 one was strictly because 9 dollars seemed like the funniest low bus fare and we wanted the World Trade Center buildings in the ad because that’s where the story took place. Totally, totally a coincidence [sic].”

Elsewhere in the Q&A another fan asked if there had been any mistakes that had turned into Simpsons gold, tweeting: “Is there an example of a real mistake that you guys just went with and it became a permanent fixture?”

Weinstein seemed to remember one in particular and replied with an image of Hans Moleman. “Yes, he’s called Moleman,” he tweeted back alongside the image.

The Q&A came a day after the news that The Simpsons‘ longtime music editor, Chris Ledesma, had passed away at the age of 64.

The cause of death remains unknown at this point. News of Ledesma’s death was made public when The Simpsons paid tribute to him with a card at the end of Sunday’s episode (aired on FOX in the US on January 1).
