EA Play

Microsoft has announced that EA Play is coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate later this year at no additional cost.

The news was revealed in an Xbox Wire news post and stated that the inclusion of both memberships will begin sometime during the upcoming holiday season. No confirmed date has been specified as of yet. Ultimate members on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S will be granted access to EA Play with no upcharge.

The service was originally known as EA Access, but has since formed with Origin under a new name – EA Play. When it arrives to Game Pass, members will be granted access to a library of games from the company, whilst also offering the chance to partake in ten hour trials for selected upcoming releases, including Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21.

It’s said there will also be “exclusive in-game challenges and rewards, special member-only content, discounts on EA digital purchases for DLC, games, and more”.

Anyone who used Xbox’s cloud gaming service will be able to stream “some of the best EA games” directly to their Android devices. Many of EA’s popular franchises are included, such as BattlefieldMass EffectSkate, and The Sims.

EA Play merging with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate coincided with the Xbox Series X finally receiving a release date and price. The console is set to launch this November and will share the same release date as the Xbox Series S.
