The first wave of acts have been announced for HellFest 2024, with Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age, Royal Blood and Megadeth topping the bill.

The rock and metal festival is due to take place from June 27-30, 2024 in Clisson, France, where The Offspring, Dropkick Murphys, Babymetal, Nova Twins, The Interrupters and many more will play.

“We still have over 160 bands to announce by the end of the year,” HellFest said in a social media statement. “Be patient. You won’t be disappointed!”

The second ticket drop of four-day passes for the 2024 festival are due to go on sale this Wednesday (October 25) at 1pm local time from here.

HellFest was forced to cancel its 2020 and 2021 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “Hellbangers, we hoped for the best but the worst is coming,” organisers wrote in a statement in 2021. “The uncertainties about the health situation and the latest government regulations are forcing us to cancel the 2021 edition of the Hellfest Festival next June.”

The festival returned over two weekends in 2022, where the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Alice Cooper, Steel Panther, Judas Priest and Korn performed.

A number of this year’s acts on the HellFest bill took to various festival stages this summer, including the 2023 edition of Glastonbury. Foo Fighters performed a surprise set at Worthy Farm, which NME said was a “brief but brilliant return for a band who’ve etched themselves into festival folklore”.

The band released their new album ‘But Here We Are’ back in May, which NME described in a five-star review as a “suitably pensive toast to rock’s restorative powers” following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Reviewing the Foos at Boston Calling earlier this year, NME said the concert was an “emotional, deep and gritty return”.
