Palworld is the biggest hit of 2024 when it comes to multiplayer games, although Helldivers 2 is giving it a run for its money. But, players have been given a brief teaser of what they can expect in the future and that is PvP.
Announced during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase, Palworld‘s Pal-Arena will play host to 1-on-1 battles between players as they determine who is the best Pal trainer. But, when will this mode be arriving and how will it work? Here is what we know so far.
When is the ‘Palworld’ Pal-Arena release date?
The Pal-Arena mode for Palworld is set to release sometime in 2024 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The mode was announced with a brief teaser trailer at the Triple-I Showcase on April 10, 2024.
No firm release window was announced, so it could arrive pretty soon or in the last few months of the year. Ultimately, we will need to wait for Pocketpair to clarify and provide a more thorough roadmap for Palworld.
How does Pal-Arena’s gameplay work in ‘Palworld’?
Palworld‘s Pal-Arena is a 1v1 PvP mode that puts you and another play against each other alongside 3 of your Pals, creating an intense 4v4 battle. Drawing more comparisons to Pokemon, this mode mirrors the gym battles that the series is famous for. However, there are some key differences.
Like the rest of the game, combat isn’t turn-based so you and your Pals will fight at the same time, and you can use them all at once, according to the reveal trailer. Additionally, you can bring in tools and weapons you have found to fight like guns and the crossbow.
Presumably, you will be able to visit this arena in the world, or load into it from anywhere and matchmake against others looking to battle it out. However, we will have to wait until Pocketpair shows off more to get a proper idea.
Palworld‘s Pal-Arena mode announcement comes shortly after the game’s first raid was released. Alongside the announcement of the Pal-Arena, Pocketpair also released an update that fixed multiplayer, which had been having some issues in recent days.
