PEARL JAM’s EDDIE VEDDER Interviews Crew Aboard International Space Station In Celebration Of Earth Day 2022
PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder has teamed up with NASA to interview the crew aboard the International Space Station in celebration of Earth Day 2022. The compelling interview touches on climate change and what the astronauts had to say about having a front-row seat to our changing planet.
Watch Vedder's interview below.
The interview is Eddie's second collaboration with NASA teams as he worked with them on his "Invincible" music video inspired by their Artemis I Moon mission in support of his recent solo album "Earthling".
The Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft — the only human-rated spacecraft in the world capable of deep-space travel — are planned to lift off from Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center for the uncrewed Artemis I mission around the Moon. Through the Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon, paving the way for a long-term lunar presence, and serving as a stepping stone on the way to Mars. This video includes footage of various prelaunch tests, along with animations of launch, the orbit around the Moon, and the return to Earth.
"Earthling" debuted No. 1 on Billboard's Current Albums sales, Album Sales and Rock Albums charts. Across the globe and in the U.S., "Earthling" made history as it marks Vedder's highest-charting solo album debut on the Billboard Top Album Sales, Top Rock Albums, Top Current Album Sales chart, and #1 on Alternative Album Sales (per MRC Data), #1 on the Canadian Top Current Albums, Top Canadian Album Sales, Alternative Album, Current Digital Albums, and LP Vinyl Albums charts.
Coming up, PEARL JAM will be hitting the road on their rescheduled North American 2022 tour. On March 9, 2020, PEARL JAM was the first major artist to pull the plug and postpone its spring 2020 tour dates due to COVID-19 concerns. A few weeks later, the band's new album "Gigaton" was released to critical acclaim but empty venues. Nearly two years later, PEARL JAM can finally hit the road with their 2020 North American tour dates officially rescheduled for May and September 2022.
