Sex Education review

Production has started on Sex Education season three – check out the announcement clip below.

The second series of the hit coming of age comedy landed on Netflix back in January, with a third instalment being confirmed the following month.

Filming was due to begin this May, but the coronavirus crisis resulted in numerous delays. Today (September 9), Netflix revealed on Twitter: “Sex Education S3 is officially in production.”

The news was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video which sees cast members Gillian Anderson, Asa Butterfield, Chris Jenks, Connor Swindells and others preparing to head back to the set.

“I’ve still got lockdown hair,” says Anderson (who portrays Jean) at the top of the clip, before Butterfield (Otis) has a shave and packs his bags.

It was previously reported by Deadline that filming for season three needed to take place no later than August as the show relies on longer days in order to achieve its bright, glossy aesthetic.

Last month, the Sex Education casting team put out a call for extras aged between 18 and 26 for the upcoming new season. The applications were required to be available to film in September and willing to travel to Newport, Cardiff and other locations.
