Family Guy star Patrick Warburton has said he will no longer apologise for the sense of humour of the animated satire.

The actor, who also played Puddy on Seinfeld and voiced Joe Swanson on Family Guy for over 300 episodes, recently reflected on the legacy of his comedic roles in an era of cancel culture.

“I think that’s why the show’s in perpetual syndication and people love it. There’s always, you know, the way things change, and this and that… what would fly today? What flew yesterday can’t fly today,” Warburton told Fox News Digital.

“I used to apologise for being on Family Guy, and I apologise no more because this world is a horrible native satire. Everybody takes themselves too seriously, and… I think in many ways become an overwhelming mess. But we need humour in our lives, and we need love and humour, acceptance. It’s all rather simple.”

Family Guy was recently renewed for a 22nd and 23rd season at Fox, alongside The Simpsons for a record-breaking 35th and 36th season and Bob’s Burgers.

Michael Thorn, Fox Entertainment’s president of scripted programming said [as per Variety]: “With this trio of renewals, we celebrate excellence in animation on Fox; our wonderful, long-time partnership with 20th Television; and, the brilliant creators and incredible voices behind these forever favourites.”

He added: “Three-plus decades of ‘The Simpsons,’ more than two decades of ‘Family Guy’ and over a decade of ‘Bob’s Burgers’ proves the enduring power of the animation genre on our network and the infinite fan affinity for these outrageously funny comedy classics.”

Bryan Cranston has called Donald Trump‘s Make America Great Again movement “racist”.

The Breaking Bad actor shared his thoughts on the former US president’s catchphrase on Who’s Talking With Chris Wallace.

“The Make America Great again – my comment is, do you, do you, do you accept that that could possibly be construed as a racist remark? And most people, a lot of people go, ‘How could that be racist? Make America Great Again?” Cranston said.

“I said, ‘so just ask yourself from, from an African-American experience, when was it ever great in America for the African-American? When was it great?'” he continued.

“So if you’re making it great again, it’s not including them.”

The actor went on to say that white people must accept the injustices of the past even if it may seem uncomfortable.

“So it’s, it’s to teach us in the woke world to open up and, and accept the possibilities that our privilege has created blind spots for us,” he said. “And maybe I haven’t seen what is really happening yet in all my years.”

Bryan Cranston recently said that a Malcolm In The Middle reboot won’t happen unless there’s a “really good idea” behind it.

In an exclusive interview with NME, Cranston said: “I can tell you that Linwood Boomer, the creator of Malcolm In The Middle, is interested in developing an idea for a rebooted series or a movie.

“He won’t do it unless there’s a really, really good idea though. He won’t just do it so that everyone makes a paycheck. And I’m not interested in that either.”

Austin Butler has said his audition for Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood lasted 12 hours.

The actor, who played Tex Watson in Tarantino’s latest feature, recalled the director’s non-traditional auditioning process after he had recorded a self-tape.

“Quentin came in, and most auditions last 10 minutes if you’re lucky. I was there from like 9 in the morning to 9 p.m,” Butler explained in an interview with Variety.

“He doesn’t record auditions, he really works with you and looks at you. It’s the same way on set, he doesn’t look through a monitor. I was supposed to have two other meetings that day and because I didn’t have my phone, my agent was worried.”

Butler added: “But at the end of the day, Quentin told me I had the part and gave me a hug.”

The actor recently recalled a surprising ritual on set with Quentin Tarantino.

“I’ve talked a lot about how much Quentin meant to me,” he told the Hot Ones [via the Mirror]. “It was always my dream to work with him. We’re on set and he says, ‘OK, we got it. We’re going to do one more. You know why?’

“And the entire crew screams, ‘Because we love making movies!’ And the first time you’re there, you’re not in on it. So Brad, Leo, everybody is like, ‘Because we love making movies!’”

Here’s how Gina Carano’s character will be dealt with in ‘The Mandalorian’ season three

“It’s a big galaxy and we have many characters in it”

The showrunners of The Mandalorian have revealed how season three will deal with the departure of Gina Carano.

The actor was fired from the Disney+ Star Wars spinoff series after making posts on social media that the company deemed “abhorrent and unacceptable”.

Executive producer Rick Famuyiwa has now told Deadline that Carano’s character Cara Dune was a “big part” of the series.

“Cara was a big part and continues as a character to be part of the world. It had to be addressed in the creative and [Jon Favreau] took the time to think about that,” Famuyiwa said.

“It was something that was discussed as we knew it was going to have impact on the show, but at the same time, what has been at the heart of the show are the two characters — Din Djarin and Grogu — so ultimately it felt like a servicing of that, and around the Mandalorians.”

Asked whether Cara Dune could return, fellow producer Dave Filoni added: “It’s a big galaxy and we have many characters in it — many characters are fighting for their screen time. It’s a big galaxy and we have many characters in it — many characters are fighting for their screen time.

“We’ll just have to see as the season unfolds what the adventures are, but it’s a great character, someone who was vital to Din Djarin’s beginnings; we’ll see if he has evolved beyond that.

“Now Season 3 is mainly dealing with Mandalorians and the Mandalorian saga, the Mandalorian tale,” Filoni added.

“(There’s) different characters he’s met since Bo-Katan (who) take a lot more prominence, which makes sense where his arc is going, the story of him and Grogu specifically.”

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal recently said he “can’t see shit” when wearing his helmet and armour in the series.

“It’s like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it,” Pascal said of the visor the character has worn since the first season, despite costume changes as the show has progressed.

Fans of Sons Of The Forest have found a way to clone and immortalise their companions.

PC Gamer reports that user CallMeSlinky created a mod allowing a debug console in Songs of Forest.

Reddit user jrm850 then discovered that the mod allows for the duplication of NPC companion Kelvin, after some javascript editing.

The debug console allows users to use the command “addcharacter Robby 1” to create another Kelvin.

“I can put as many as I want in theory, but if you put too many it can start to cause FPS issues. I didn’t experience any real issues with just 4 or less, worked great in multiplayer with other people,” jrm850 wrote in a YouTube comment reply.

Elsewhere in gaming, J.K. Simmons has been confirmed to star in the long-awaited Baldur’s Gate 3, which has now received a confirmed release date.

The game was announced back in 2019, and a new trailer announced an August 2023 release date late last year.

Now, it has been confirmed by developer Larian Studios that the game will arrive on August 31 to PCMac, and PS5.

Starring in the game as General Ketheric Thorm will be J.K. Simmons, and a new release date trailer has been shared alongside footage of Simmons in the booth during recording for the game.

Tom Cruise has discussed how he “got emotional” in his Top Gun: Maverick reunion with Val Kilmer.

The actor, who reprised his role as Peter “Maverick” Mitchell from the 1986 film Top Gun, appeared in a brief scene with Kilmer in the new film.

Kilmer played Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the original film, but only returned for a cameo in the new film after being diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and now speaking with a voice box.

“I just want to say that was pretty emotional. I’ve known Val for decades,” Cruise said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently.

“For him to come back and play that character… he’s such a powerful actor that he instantly became that character again. You’re looking at Iceman.”

“I was crying. I got emotional,” Cruise admitted. “He’s such a brilliant actor, and I love his work.”

Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is set to become the first civilian to perform space walk in a new film.

Speaking to the BBC, Universal chairwoman Dame Donna Langley revealed that the actor, if all goes to plan, will be blasted into space to film scenes on and outside the International Space Station.

“Tom Cruise is taking us to space. He’s taking the world to space. That’s the plan,” she said.

“We have a great project in development with Tom, that does contemplate him doing just that. Taking a rocket up to the space station and shooting and hopefully being the first civilian to do a spacewalk outside of the space station.”

Commenting on an anecdote from the former royal’s memoir Spare in which he recalled “gobbling” magic mushrooms at the Friends star’s home in 2016, she confirmed he stayed at her house.

“He did stay here for a couple of days – probably two or three,” Cox said in an interview with Variety. “He’s a really nice person.

“I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it,” she said of the story.

“I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out,” Cox added.

In the book, Prince Harry wrote: “No complaints from me. As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica’s was highly appealing. And amusing. But then… Courteney turned up. I was very confused. Was her job cancelled? I didn’t think it was my place to ask. More: Does this mean we have to leave?

“She smiled. ‘Of course not Harry. Plenty of room.’ Great. But I was still confused because… she was Monica. And I was a Chandler. I wondered if I’d ever work up the courage to tell her. Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”

“Somebody behind me said they were for everybody. Help yourself, boys. My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.”

The former royal added that he and his friends discovered “a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates” in Cox’s fridge.

“Somebody behind me said they were for everybody. Help yourself, boys. My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.”

Elsewhere, South Park recently took aim at Harry and Meghan’s “worldwide privacy tour” in a recent episode.

Hasan Minhaj hits back at ‘Dilbert’ creator: “This is for your own good”

“Rich people, this is for your own good”

Hasan Minhaj has hit back at Dilbert creator Scott Adams after his racist rant.

Adams had called Black American people “a hate group” and said white people should “get the hell away from Black people”, following his lead by moving to “a neighbourhood with a very low Black population”.

In response, Minhaj used his time as The Daily Show guest host to address Adams: “Kanye heard this and was like, ‘whoa, whoa, my brother… pace yourself.’”

The comedian went on to call Adams “a certain type of rich person” and compared him to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

“I can guarantee you: J.K. Rowling had zero opinions about trans people when she was on welfare,” he said, before suggesting a wealth tax.

“Rich people, this is for your own good,” he said. “The wealth tax is actually a shut-the-fuck-up tax.”

“Spend more time working, kissing your loved ones, getting groceries ― y’know, being a normal person,” he said. “Because normal people don’t hate Black people. We’re all too busy hating that one squeaky wheel on the shopping cart.”

Hasan Minhaj was among the celebrities performing at the Stand Up for Heroes 2022 benefit in New York.

The event also featured Bruce Springsteen, as well as The Lumineers, comedian Jon Stewart, Amber Iman, Jeff Ross, Iliza Shlesinger and more.

In the decade and a half since Stand Up for Heroes had its inaugural edition in 2007, the benefit – which typically kicks off New York Comedy Festival – has featured musicians like Red Hot Chili PeppersRoger Waters and Sheryl Crow, and comedians such as Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Whoopi Goldberg, Seth Meyers, Conan O’Brien, John Mulaney and more.

Jamie Lee Curtis recently referred to herself as a “nepo baby” in a speech at the SAG Awards.

The actor, the daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, nodded to recent online discourse about the children of famous celebrities and the privileges they may have received.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the ceremony began with several celebrities giving monologues to introduce themselves, with Curtis using her time to reflect on the first television show she worked on.

“I signed a seven-year contract to Universal Studios and starred in an ABC TV series called Operation Petticoat,” she said. “Which was based on a movie that my father, Tony Curtis (nepo baby) starred in.”

“I was fired from that TV show, a year later, and I thought my life was over,” she added.

“If I hadn’t been fired from Operation Petticoat, I would have never had the opportunity to audition for a little tiny, no-budget horror movie called Halloween.”

In her acceptance speech for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, Jamie Lee Curtis went on: “I’m wearing the wedding ring that my father gave my mother. My father was from Hungary and my mother was from Denmark and they had nothing. And they became these monstrous stars in this industry they love so much.

”I know you look at me and think nepo baby, and I totally get it! But the truth of the matter is I’m 64 years old and this is just amazing!”

Mark Wahlberg was criticised on social media for presenting the cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once with their ensemble award, in light of his history of hate crimes.
