Donald Trump, the first Home Alone 2 cast member to be impeached, can’t understand how a foreign film won Best Picture at the 2020 Academy Awards.

Though the Oscars occurred nearly two weeks ago, Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite was top of mind for Trump when he took the stage for a campaign rally in Colorado on Thursday.

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year?” griped Trump to begin a lengthy, largely non-sensical rant in which he seemed to insinuate that liberal Hollywood awarded Parasite in an effort to derail trade negotiations between America and South Korea, and wondered why Gone With the Wind, a film released in 1937, didn’t win instead.

“The winner is… a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give them best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know. Let’s get Gone With the Wind. Can we get Gone With the Wind back, please?”

Neon, the US distributor of Parasite, was quick to hit back at Trump. “Understandable, he can’t read,” the company quipped in a tweet linking to Trump’s comments.

Trump also took a swipe at Brad Pitt, who used his acceptance speech for Best Support Acting  to call out the US Senate for failing to subpoena John Bolton to testify in Trump’s impeachment trial. “They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week,” Pitt said at the time. “I’m thinking maybe Quentin [Tarantino] does a movie about it — in the end, the adults do the right thing.”

In response, Trump called Pitt a “little wiseguy.”

Neil Young Calls Donald Trump a “Disgrace to My Country” in Open Letter

The musician exercises his newly minted rights as an official US citizen.

As a new US citizen, Neil Young is exercising his right to free speech with a sternly worded message for Donald Trump, whom he calls “a disgrace to my country.”

In an open letter posted to Young’s website, the legendary rocker called out the president for inflating his own ego rather than acknowledging his failures while in the White House. “Bragging about the US economy does not disguise the fact that the numbers today are what you inherited almost 4 years ago,” wrote Young. The musician was referencing Trump’s recent claim that the country’s “economic boom” can be attributed to him and him alone.

As a passionate advocate for addressing climate change, Young then went on to call out POTUS for his lack of urgency on the matter, stating, “Your mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment and our relationships with friends around the world is unforgivable. Your policies, decisions and short term thinking continue to exacerbate the Climate Crisis.”

Additionally, Young talked about Trump’s repeated unauthorized use of his classic hit “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” during political rallies, something the president has been doing for years now. “Every time ‘Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World’ or one of my songs is played at your rallies, I hope you hear my voice,” the musician wrote. “Remember it is the voice of a tax-paying US citizen who does not support you. Me.”

The 74-year-old artist closed his letter with a note of support for Bernie Sanders, referring to him only by saying, “his initials are BS. Not his policies.” Young elaborated,

“One of your opponents has answers I like. He is aiming at preserving our children’s future directly. He is not popular with the democratic establishment because unlike all the other candidates, he is not pandering to the industries accelerating Earth’s Climate Disaster, the end of the world as we know it. he is truly fighting for the USA.”

Young is just one of many musicians who’ve endorsed Sanders. In recent months, folks like Jack WhiteThe Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver, and Portugal. The Man have all publicly backed the Vermont senator and performed at his rallies. With the election fast approaching, it’s possible Young may one day, too, take the stage at a Sanders campaign event.

Read Young’s full open letter to Trump below.

You are a disgrace to my country. Bragging about the US economy does not disguise the fact that the numbers today are what you inherited almost 4 years ago.

Your mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment and our relationships with friends around the world is unforgivable.

Your policies, decisions and short term thinking continue to exacerbate the Climate Crisis.

Our first black president was a better man than you are.

The United States of America, my country, is not a green on one of your branded golf courses that you can ride around on and damage so that other players cannot shoot straight.

“Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” is not a song you can trot out at one of your rallies. Perhaps you could have been a bass player and played in a rock and roll band. That way you could be on stage at a rally every night in front of your fans, if you were any good, and you might be…

Every time “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” or one of my songs is played at your rallies, I hope you hear my voice. Remember it is the voice of a tax-paying US citizen who does not support you. Me.

I don’t blame the people who voted for you. I support their right to express themselves, although they have been lied to, and in many cases believed the lies, they are true Americans. I have their back.

US justice is ours — not yours

One of your opponents has answers I like. He is aiming at preserving our children’s future directly. He is not popular with the democratic establishment because unlike all the other candidates, he is not pandering to the industries accelerating Earth’s Climate Disaster, the end of the world as we know it. he is truly fighting for the USA.

His initials are BS. Not his policies.

We are going to vote you out and Make America Great Again.

Neil Young has criticised Donald Trump in a scathing open letter to the US President.

Posted on his ‘Neil Young archives’ website, Young said Trump is “a disgrace to my country” and accuses him of “mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment, and our relationships with friends around the world.”

Young, who recently gained dual American-Canadian citizenship, said the President’s behaviour was “unforgivable” and said Barack Obama was “a better man that you are.”

Young added: “Your policies, decisions and short term thinking continue to exacerbate the Climate Crisis…The United States of America, my country, is not a green on one of your branded golf courses that you can ride around on and damage so that other players cannot shoot straight.”

Young also took aim at Trump for his continued use of his song, ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ at his rallies. In 2016 Young criticised Trump for allegedly using the song without permission at his presidential candidate announcement event in the previous year.

“Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” is not a song you can trot out at one of your rallies,” Young wrote. “Perhaps you could have been a bass player and played in a rock and roll band. That way you could be on stage at a rally every night in front of your fans, if you were any good, and you might be.

“Every time “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” or one of my songs is played at your rallies, I hope you hear my voice. Remember it is the voice of a tax-paying US citizen who does not support you. Me.”

“…We are going to vote you out and Make America Great Again,” Young concluded his letter.

On gaining his dual citizenship recently, Young confirmed that he would be voting for the Democrats in the upcoming US elections.

Young shared the news with fans by posting a photo of him saluting next to a sign that reads: “Democrats register to vote here.” He captioned the picture with American and Canadian flag emojis and wrote: “I’m happy to report I’m in!! Vote your conscience (sic)”.

The 74-year-old singer had initially made a bid for US citizenship in November 2019 but the outcome was delayed after he admitted to smoking marijuana.

Guns N’Roses frontman Axl Rose has returned to Twitter to deliver a political message.

After being away from the social media platform for several months, Axl broke his silence with a Tweet seemingly mocking Donald Trump and his ‘Make America Great Again’ hats.

Axl tweeted a picture of a man in a blue hat which contained the slogan “Make The White House Great Again.” You can see the tweet below.

Back in 2018, Axl hit out at Trump saying that his campaign was using “loopholes” to play music at rallies and other events without the performers’ consent.

Pharrell Williams, Steven Tyler, and Prince’s estate have all threatened legal action against the US President previously, after discovering he had used their music during campaign events ahead of the mid-term elections.

The Guns N’ Roses frontman offered his view of the situation while confirming the band have also “formally requested” Trump stop playing their songs.

“Just so ya know… GNR like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorized use of their music at political events has formally requested r music not b used at Trump rallies or Trump associated events,” he tweeted at the time.

“Unfortunately the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues’ blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters’ consent. Can u say ‘shitbags?!’”

Axl was also critical of Kanye West’s visit to The White House in 2018, describing it as “a joke” and “attention seeking nonsense.”

The ‘Ye’ star met with Trump inside the Oval Office with a televised sit-down between the rapper, the President and the former NFL player Jim Brown taking place prior to a working lunch which was set to focus on such topics as urban revitalisation, new workforce training programs and more.“What a joke. Not gonna solve anything in Chicago or anywhere else with any of that attention seeking nonsense”, Rose wrote on Twitter.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ fans mock Donald Trump after he tweets Larry David MAGA clip

The wider context of the ‘Curb’ clip Trump shared appeared to be lost on the commander-in-chief

Curb Your Enthusiasm fans have mocked Donald Trump after the President tweeted a clip from the show — featuring Larry David wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat — while appearing to miss its wider context.

The video snippet in question was taken from the recent season 10 premiere of Curb, titled ‘Happy New Year’. The episode sees Larry donning the MAGA cap to avoid socialising with people, with one instance seeing Larry being able to diffuse a road rage incident with a biker by simply putting the hat on mid-conversation.

That interaction was tweeted by Trump last night (February 10), although the President appeared to have either ignored or totally missed the context of the Curb scene as he accompanied the clip with the caption: “TOUGH GUYS FOR TRUMP!”

Those who believed that Trump had used the clip in the belief that it was in praise of him were quick to pile in with their responses.

Speaking about the use of the MAGA hat in Curb recently, David said that “he could give a fuck” if any Trump supporters who watched the show might feel “alienated” by him poking fun at their movement.

Last month, Larry David joked that it would be “terrible” for him “but great for the country” if Bernie Sanders wins the November presidential election due to their likeness.

David has previously played the Democratic hopeful on past editions of Saturday Night Live.

Donald Trump unironically tweeted Larry David wearing a MAGA hat thinking it was a compliment

The Curb Your Episode episode actually pokes fun at Trump, but the joke was lost on him

Note: Spoilers ahead

The season 10 premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm saw Larry David slip on a blazing red MAGA hat. It’s not that he’d suddenly joined the dark side, however — David used the notorious cap as repellent against people. The joke was entirely lost on Donald Trump, of course, who took to Twitter on Monday night to praise a clip from that Curb episode.

“TOUGH GUYS FOR TRUMP!” the POTUS wrote. The attached 30-second video follows a heated exchange between David and a buff motorcyclist whom he’d cut off. The motorcyclist angrily approaches David’s car, ready to brawl, but politely backs off and gives David his blessing after seeing him put on his MAGA hat. In his tweet, the president is championing buff and belligerent pro-Trump dudes like this motorcyclist.

If only that was the point David was trying to make.

There is another scene in the “Happy New Year” episode that perfectly exemplifies David’s main reason for wearing the disgraced cap in the first place — to avoid a meeting with Everybody Loves Raymond creator Philip Rosenthal. But either Trump can’t grasp the concept of David’s epic diss against him or is willfully choosing to ignore it. Trump loves to twist and omit the truth, but he also isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and apparently has no sense of humor, so I’m willing to bet he just doesn’t get it at all.

Check out Trump’s ill-informed tweet below. For what it’s worth, David could “give a fuck” about MAGA supporters who are alienated by his mockery.

Trump may have launched yet Another Bad Tweet, but at least David’s latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has done its part in actually Making America Great Again, according to a review by Consequence of Sound Editor-in-Chief Michael Roffman.

Poll: 64% of New Hampshire Democrats prefer death by meteor to Trump re-election

The meteor has especially large support among women.

Given the choice, a large majority of New Hampshire Democrats would prefer that, “A giant meteor strikes the earth, extinguishing all human life,” to Donald Trump winning re-election.

The new poll comes from the Center for Public Opinion at UMass Lowell. In an online survey of 400 likely voters, 64% of democrats chose the death of all Earthly creatures over four more years of the “very stable genius.” Self-identified Independents were more torn, narrowly desiring a Trump victory to total annihilation, 51% to 49%.

Compared to men, women were far more likely to choose the meteor, with over two-thirds of female respondents desiring Omnicide over the pussy-grabber-in-chief. Even 28% of conservatives would rather experience death from above, though these are the kind of conservatives who are likely to vote in the Democratic primary, so take that for what it’s worth.

Whether you lean right or prefer that no one’s left, we can all agree that these kinds of questions are more fun than useful. In 2016, the same pollster found that 53% of young people would prefer planetary destruction to either Hilary Clinton or President Trump. The co-director of the CPO, Joshua Dyck, told Reuters that, “Obviously we don’t think that they’re serious. The fact that one in four of our young people pick ‘Giant Meteor’ tells you something about the political disaffection that is being shown by American youth.”

In other words, take the question seriously but not literally.

Not all liberals want to be hit with a meteor; Robert de Nero would rater hit Trump in the face with, “a bag of shit.” But if there really was a large rock heading our way, perhaps it could be stopped by Trump’s new Space Force, the logo of which sure looks a lot like the old Starfleet Command insignia from Star Trek.

Recently, a leaked recording of Trump caught him saying that smoking weed “makes people lose IQ points.”
