Takeoff is set to posthumously feature on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s upcoming album ‘Vultures 2’.

The late Migos rapper contributed a verse to the pre-existing song ‘Let Me Chill Out’, which also includes appearances from Rich The Kid and NBA YoungBoy.

Rolling Stone confirmed the collaboration’s inclusion on the album after West said that ‘Vultures 2’ would be released on May 3. According to the outlet, a source described the Takeoff team-up as a “highlight track” of the collection.

Takeoff has only been posthumously featured on the songs ‘Patty Cake’ and ‘Back Where It Begins’ from Quavo‘s 2023 album ‘Rocket Power’.

Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle, explained around the time of the record’s release that he wanted to keep Takeoff’s unreleased music “very, very sacred”. He added: “Knowing him, he’d want his shit right.”

West worked with Takeoff and Migos on ‘We Did It Kid’ on ‘Donda 2’ (2022). Following Takeoff’s death, West shared two images of himself with the group. “Love forever,” he wrote.

Takeoff showed his support for West in one of his last interviews. “Shout-out to Ye,” he told Billboard. “You hear me, y’all stop fucking with my boy.”

The Migos star, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2022. He was 28 years old.

In 2021, Migos responded to the rumours that they almost signed to Kanye West‘s GOOD Music label in 2016.

The second instalment of the ‘Vultures’ trilogy was originally due on March 8, with a second scheduled to follow on April 5.

In February, West and Dolla $ign released their long-awaited debut collaborative LP ‘Vultures 1’ – which featured verses from the former’s daughter North WestYGPlayboi CartiFreddie Gibbs and more.

In a two-star reviewNME said that the collection was “mired in misogyny” and “dogged by degrading lyrics and messy mixes”.

It added: “Such misogyny is hardly new in hip-hop – or either artists’ catalogues or the broader musical landscape in general – but that doesn’t make it any less detestable.”

In other news, Kanye West is reportedly “dead set” on setting up a ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’.

Kid Cudi cancels tour after breaking foot at Coachella: “The injury is much more serious than I thought”

“There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100 per cent”

Kid Cudi has announced the cancellation of his upcoming North American tour after breaking his foot at Coachella 2024.

Last weekend, Kid Cudi performed a last-minute set at Coachella, taking over the Sahara Tent on Sunday (April 21). However, his performance – which was his first at the Californian festival since 2019 – came to an abrupt end after he had broken his foot.

The injury occured after Kid Cudi jumped off the stage to get closer to his fans at the barricades during ‘Memories’. He was carried out of the Sahara Tent while his DJ played Steve Aoki’s remix of ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’.

Now, Cudi has shared an update on the severity of his injury, announcing that he will no longer to tour North America with Pusha T between June and August. The rapper wrote on Instagram: “Guys, so, I have a broken calcaneus. I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time.”

“We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. This injury is much more serious than I thought,” he continued.

Kid Cudi then confirmed that full refunds will be issued to all who have purchased tickets to the tour and that he will be announcing new tour dates “as soon as possible”.

The calcaneus refers to the largest bone the forms the heel of the foot. According to the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, a broken calcaneus will take between three to four months to heal.

Shortly after suffering his injury, Kid Cudi revealed the foot break to fans via X that he had “never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy”.

Kid Cudi and Pusha T are currently slated to tour Europe and the UK early next year. It is currently unclear if the  European leg of the INSANO tour will be affected or postponed due to his injury.

Ice Spice to feature on remix of viral Cash Cobain track ‘Fisherrr’

The song was originally leaked on X/Twitter by media personality DJ Akademiks

Ice Spice has leant a verse to the upcoming remix of Cash Cobain‘s viral song ‘Fisherrr’, after a clip of her vocals leaked online.

Back in February, New York rapper-producer Cobain released the sultry drill track ‘Fisherrr’ featuring Bay Swag. The song later became viral on TikTok and spawned a new dance craze called the “Reemski”.

This week, rap authority DJ Akademiks took to X/Twitter to say he had received what was later confirmed as Ice Spice’s verse for the highly-anticipated remix to ‘Fisherrr’. In the clip he uploaded, the ‘Gangsta Boo’ star can be heard rapping: “Got an attitude, but I’m feeling lit so I ain’t mad at ‘cho / And I’m tatted too, it’s the fattest too, I’m your baddest boo.”

He also shared the artwork for the single, showing a Betty Boop-inspired drawing of the 24-year-old holding up a phone with the message “Play ‘Fisherrr remix”.

Last week (April 18), the Bronx rapper was seen recording the music video for the song. Spice wore her signature orange hair and an all-pink outfit. Her look included a furry mink-looking coat, seemingly paying homage to fellow New Yorker Cam’ron and the iconic one he wore to a 2002 Baby Phat fashion show.

Another video shows Spice alongside Cobain and Swag performing the song in an empty parking lot, with a group of people dancing on the stairs behind them.

The ‘Fisherrr’ remix will be Spice’s second release of the year. Back In January, she similarly teased her latest release ‘Think U The Shit (Fart)’ by posting a snippet of the song on her Instagram, getting it to go viral before its release.

The ‘Bikini Bottom’ rapper also debuted another new song last weekend during her first-ever Coachella set. The track follows New York’s current sample drill trend – pioneered by Cobain – as it flips Sean Paul‘s 2005 breakthrough track ‘Gimme The Light’.

Spice is set to release her debut album ‘Y2K’ some time this year. While on the YouTube show Hot Ones, she told host Sean Evans that “each song that I work on I really try to make it good enough to put out basically.”

“I don’t really skim through it real quick,” she continued. “I really take my time and I’m just like OK. Every time I work on a song basically, I’m like, ‘This is gonna be released.’ That hasn’t always been in the case but for this album process, that was the case.”

“It will serve as a follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Like… ?’. In a four-star review, NME said: “On ‘Like…?’, she appears unbothered about chasing clout or fans – she knows they’ll come around eventually anyway.”

Cobain’s last release was his fifth LP, the 2023 record ‘Pretty Girls Love Slizzy’. “I feel like if you want to rap, rap. If you want to make beats, make beats,” he told NME last December about pursuing a rap career while being a producer. “You want to do both, you can do both. I just want you to be nice after you do what I’m saying.”

At the end of the interview, Cobain was confident he’d be successful, saying: “Don’t you see me gearing up to take over this world right now?”

The ‘Fisherrr’ remix will be released soon via Giant Music and 10K Projects.

In other news, Ice Spice made a guest appearance at PinkPantheress’ recent show in New York to perform their Billboard-charting song ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2’.

She is also set to make her acting debut in the Spike Lee-directed film High And Low and will star alongside Denzel Washington.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Vultures 2’ reportedly coming next week

The second instalment of the ‘Vultures’ album trilogy was originally due in March

The post Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Vultures 2’ reportedly coming next week appeared first on NME.

NME

Kanye West has announced that ‘Vultures 2’ – his highly anticipated second collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign – will be out next week.

Back in February February, Ye and Dolla $ign released the long-awaited debut collaborative project ‘Vultures 1’ – which featured verses from the former’s daughter North West, YG, Playboi Carti, Freddie Gibbs, and more. The LP was the first instalment in the ‘Vultures’ trilogy, with the two sequels originally set to be released March 8 and April 5, respectively.

This week, West sat down with social media icon Justin Laboy for the first-ever episode of The Download – a new podcast exclusively on the Yeezy website. Nearing the end of their conversation, Laboy asked Ye when will ‘Vultures 2’ be released – to which he replied: “It’s coming out May 3.”

Laboy then pressed if the release date was “for sure” and “stamped”, to which West replied “Yeah.”

Last month, Ye told a fan that the rest of the ‘Vultures’ album trilogy may not be on digital streaming sites, likening those platforms to pirating.

West’s move might be influenced by the controversial release of ‘Vultures 1’. The album was released after multiple delays and was briefly pulled from Apple Music and iTunes after not being approved by its distributor.

Both Ozzy Osbourne and the estate of Donna Summer accused West of sampling their music without permission, causing Osbourne to threaten legal action against him and  Summer’s estate to file a lawsuit.

Despite ‘Vultures 1’’s tumultuous release, the album topped the Billboard 200 albums chart in its first two weeks and its single ‘Carnival’ peaked at Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100.

Elsewhere in interview with Laboy, the controversial rapper-producer also chimed in on the ongoing rap battle between Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Drake. On The Download, Ye previewed what would have been his verse on the remix of Metro Boomin and Future‘s ‘Like That’ and, in one stanza, took shots at Drake for the huge 2022 deal he signed with UMG.

The longstanding feud between Drake and Kanye West can be traced back to January 2011, culminating in 2018 when Ye dropped the infamous ‘Lift Yourself’. It was reported that Drake wanted the beat for ‘Lift Yourself’ but the Chicago star used it before he could.

The ‘College Dropout’ star also commented on the Dreamville Records founder retracting his response to Lamar’s ‘Like That’ verse. Last month, J. Cole released his fourth mixtape ‘Might Delete Later’ which hosted ‘7 Minute Drill’ that included shots at Lamar. Cole later said he regretted releasing the song and has since removed it from streaming platforms.

“Fuck all that pussy shit,” West said. “Fuck all that shit. Because, like that n**** J. Cole went on tour with Drake, he know[s] what it is. Like, n****, you can’t run now. It’s you also.”

In other news, West was accused of punching a man in the face who had allegedly “sexually assaulted” his wife Bianca Censori in Los Angeles.

This week also saw it emerge that West was apparently “dead set” on setting up a ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’, according to new reports.

Tupac Shakur’s estate threatens legal action against Drake over diss track using AI-generated vocals

The Toronto rapper was sent a cease-and-desist letter by the late rapper’s estate for his track ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’

The post Tupac Shakur’s estate threatens legal action against Drake over diss track using AI-generated vocals appeared first on NME.

NME

Tupac Shakur’s estate have threatened to sue Drake over the use of AI-generated vocals to replicate the late rapper’s voice on his diss track.

According to a cease-and-desist letter (per Billboard), the ‘Headlines’ rapper was told by litigator Howard King that his track ‘Taylor Made Freestyle‘ must to be taken down in less than 24 hours. If not, Tupac’s estate would go ahead and  “pursue all of its legal remedies” against him.

The letter – penned by King – read: “The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality. Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. The Estate would never have given its approval for this use.”

It continued, taking issue with the rappers use of Tupac’s vocals to diss Kendrick Lamar: “The unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac’s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend to the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult.”

‘Taylor Made Freestyle’ was the latest in a string of shots back and forth between Drake and Lamar.

The first verse on the track has been manipulated to sound like 2Pac, with lines including: “Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior / Engraving your name in some hip-hop history / Fuck this Canadian light-skin, Dot / We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man”.

The issue between the two artists began on the 2023 single ‘First Person Shooter’, when Drake compared himself to Michael Jackson, after tying him for the most Number One singles on the Billboard charts.

In response last month, Lamar took jabs at Drake on ‘Like That’, a track from Metro Boomin and Future’s joint project ‘We Don’t Trust You’, by likening himself to Prince – Jackson’s longtime rival. “Prince outlived Mike Jack’ / N****, bum, ‘fore all your dogs gettin’ buried / That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary,” he rapped.

On April 13, Drake seemingly replied on the diss track, ‘Push Ups (Drop And Give Me 50)’. “This the bark with the bite, nigga, what’s up? / How the fuck you been steppin’ with a size seven mens on?” he rapped, alluding to Lamar’s fifth studio album ‘Mr Morale & The Big Steppers’. The Californian has yet to drop a rebuttal to ‘Push Ups’.

Fans thought Lamar had responded to Drake when a song called ‘One Shot’ leaked online. The track turned out to be fake, though, as TikTok rapper-producer SyTheRapper revealed he created it using AI. “I shocked myself,” he said. “I thought people were going to be able to tell it was fake, but people did actually think it was real.”

However, Rick Ross legitimately replied to ‘Push Ups’ with the equally venomous ‘Champagne Moments’. On the song, he accused Drake of getting a nose job and sending a cease-and-desist to French Montana. The latter was later confirmed by their label owner, Gamma CEO Larry Jackson.

In other news, the bail for Tupac Shakur‘s murder suspect was set at $750,000 (£590,000) after being charged for the late rapper’s murder earlier this year.

Kanye West reportedly “dead set” on setting up ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’

He has been reported as having teamed up with porn producer Mike Moz – the ex-husband of Stormy Daniels

The post Kanye West reportedly “dead set” on setting up ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’  appeared first on NME.

NME

Kanye West is “dead set” on setting up a ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’, according to new reports.

The rumours of the controversial rapper delving into the adult film industry come according to a Yeezy representative, who spoke to TMZ recently.

According to the report, West – who now goes by Ye – is looking to turn his sights to the porn industry, and both he and his partners are “in advanced talks to actually get something up and running.”

The outlet also went on to say that the “Yeezy Porn studio” would be established as part of a “broader entertainment division” at his parent Yeezy company, and to help get the project off the ground the artist has teamed up with porn producer Mike Moz – who is also the ex-husband of Stormy Daniels.

As per TMZ, the project could be launched as early as Summer 2024.

The rumoured venture into the pornography industry comes following the rapper being candid about his struggle with porn addiction.

Back in 2019, the rapper spoke to Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 in Wyoming ahead of the release of ‘Jesus Is King’. During the interview, West acknowledged the extent of his “full-on pornography addiction” and said he was overcoming it thanks to his belief in God.

“Playboy was a gateway to a full-on pornography addiction. My dad had a Playboy left out at age 5. It has affected every choice I have made for the rest of my life from age 5 to now, where I’m having to kick the habit. And it just presents itself in the open, like it’s OK. And I stand up and say: it’s not OK,” he said.

“With God, I’ve been able to beat things that had a full control of me… You know that Playboy that I found when I was 5 was written all over the moment when I was at the MTV Awards with the Timberlands, the Balmain jeans — before people was rocking Balmain jeans — and the Hennessy bottle.”

The news also comes after the rapper made headlines after he and his partner Bianca Censori were reportedly “banned for life” after indecent exposure on a Venice boat.

NME has reached out for comment regarding the legitimacy of the ‘Yeezy Porn Studio’ claims.

In other Ye news, it was reported earlier this week that the rapper had gotten involved in the ongoing rap beef between Drake, J. Cole, Future and Kendrick Lamar – making an appearance on Justin Laboy’s radio show The Download, and premiering his remix of ‘Like That’.

He has also been at the forefront of controversy too, for incidents including accusations of punching a man in the face who allegedly “sexually assaulted” his wife, accusations of “stealing” a sample from Underground producer TSVI, backlash from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over anti-Semitic comments, and criticism from the Donna Summer estate for using a sample of her seminal track ‘I Feel Love’ without permission.

West was later sued by a former Yeezy and Donda Academy student for allegedly threatening to “cage” his students. Trevor Phillips has accused the musician of a number of allegations including verbal abuse, threatening physical violence and comparing himself to Hitler.

While representatives have not yet responded to the allegations brought to light by Phillips, they have previously dismissed claims about the Donda Academy. In a past response from Ye’s lawyer, the former employees’ descriptions of the school were described as a “dystopian institution designed to satisfy Ye’s idiosyncrasies”.

His latest album was a collaborative LP with Ty Dolla $ign titled ‘Vultures 1’, and was given a two-star review by NME, and criticised for its “degrading lyrics and messy mixes”.

Megan Thee Stallion accused of harrassment and creating hostile work environment by former photographer

The photographer alleged he was forced to watch the rapper have sex with a woman and was fat-shamed by her

The post Megan Thee Stallion accused of harrassment and creating hostile work environment by former photographer appeared first on NME.

NME

Megan Thee Stallion has been accused of harrassment by a former photographer, who alleged he was forced to watch her have sex with a woman.

According to NBC News, cameraman Emilio Garcia filed a lawsuit today (April 23) against the rapper (real name Megan Pete), accusing her of harrassment and creating a hostile work environment.

Garcia claimed that he was trapped inside a moving car with Pete and three other women, where she proceeded to have sex with one of the women. According to the photographer, the incident allegedly took place in June 2022 in Ibiza, Spain.

In the lawsuit, filed to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Garcia went on to allege that he was told by the rapper afterwards: “don’t ever discuss what you saw”.

“I felt uncomfortable. I was kind of frozen, and I was shocked. At kind of just be the overall audacity to do this right, right beside me,” Garcia told NBC News in an interview.

The lawsuit also states that Garcia was reportedly treated differently by Pete, with her harrassment “so severe” and “pervasive” that it created a “hostile, abusive work environment” that made Garcia’s “working conditions intolerable.”

On that same trip, Pete allegedly called Garcia a “fat bitch”, telling him to “spit your food out” and that he didn’t “need to be eating.” “To hear someone who advocates about loving your body tell me these things,” Garcia told NBC News, “I felt degraded.”

He went on to claim that he “endured a barrage of relentless sexual and fat-shaming comments plunging him into profound emotional distress,” allegedly causing Garcia to face physical injuries, physical sickness and emotional distress.

Garcia also reported a loss in earnings and decreased employment benefits, alleging that he was prohibited by the rapper from working for anyone else, along with being denied overtime pay and breaks. He was also allegedly left “without basic insurance coverage, depriving him of essential health care.”

The photographer claimed he now “grapples with mounting anxiety, depression, and physical distress stemming from the toxic work environment.”

In a statement to NBC News, Ron Zambrano, attorney for Garcia, said: “Megan just needs to pay our client what he’s due, own up to her behavior and quit this sort of sexual harassment and fat shaming conduct. Emilio should never have been put in a position of having to be in the vehicle with her while she had sex with another woman. ‘Inappropriate’ is putting it lightly. Exposing this behavior to employees is definitely illegal.”

Garcia is reportedly seeking more than six figures for unpaid wages (including overtime), interest on the unpaid wages, and other employee benefits at the legal rate. The photographer is also seeking penalties related to Californian labour laws, punitive damages according to proof, and any costs incurred by Garcia.

NME have reached out to Megan Thee Stallion’s representatives for comment.

In other news, Megan has said how “a lot of people didn’t treat me like I was human” after the Tory Lanez shooting.
